While I have known that going above stock tire size would result in more stress on the vehicle's suspension, I have always been under the assumption that it's not too drastic an effect and careful driving can somewhat offset the negatives.

So let me ask the people who know more: should I be worried with my 17's on a subcompact hatchback?

If so, would merely changing the shocks be enough?
