Had to change the tire pressure valve (yun bagang "pito") yesterday.

I was given a choice of the rubber-type -- stock on most vehicles, the one which is simply plugged into the hole of the wheel, and the more expensive (about three times more) screw-type.

Both would look almost the same when installed as the rubber-type valves now have a chrome sleeve on them so it would still match chrome alloy wheels.

I ended up having the screw-type valve installed as the shop-owner explained that it would last much longer than the rubber-type valves, and that subsequent air leakage from the valves could be corrected by simply tightening the valve housing onto the wheel.

Any comments on these two types?

Used both. From experience, no difference. Kung sisingaw, sisingaw.

Ordinary lang, kahit manakaw ok lang. AFAIK no difference, just purely cosmetic.
