mr empanada,
your steering linkages are subjected to a lot of stresses while you are driving and they wear out in time. some of them like tie rods last about two years, bushings last about five years, ball joints last about two years in bumpy roads. your steering systems sometimes determine between life and death specially if you drive in the freeway or expressway. it is your choice but not the choice of someone who you might hit because of your car's deficiency. if the joints have slacks on them whether loaded or unloaded, they shall be replaced. injecting them with lubricant is okay if the condition of the joint is free of defects. trying to skimp( i understand of the costs) might lead to unnecessary accidents. let your conscience be your guide.

September 14th, 2009 04:44 PM #4Suggest you buy 555 suspension parts at Banawe Area and have it installed at Servitek, Rapide or other reputable shops. I have already canvassed the labor/ parts cost at Cruven before and found out much expensive comparing installing brand new replacement parts. Besides, they don't have any special service tools at their shops such as coil spring compressor, ball joint/ tie rod separator. Puro de- pukpok and mano mano gawa nila and their wheel alignment machine is not that modern.

i just replaced my parts yesterday at banawe with a decent shop and experienced na mekaniko.. magaling sila talaga... cost me minimal lang.. brandnew lahat.. ball joint, tire rod end, rack end, stab link, shock absorber... KYB Excel G and 555.. nawala kalambag.. as in 0%... hehe... malambot na ulit ang ride.. nagpunta ako sa Cruven before magreplaced but the cost is as much as replacing with brandnew parts... satisfied ako.. just go to banawe.. find a decent shop there.... =)

October 3rd, 2009 05:54 PM #10+1 sa japan made 555, mas matibay pa siya kaysa sa OEM na mitsubishi parts for my lancer itlog.
Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
