lately when I start my suzuki esteem, after parking it for a while, the power steering becomes very heavy and has erratic power assist at slow speed, when I ease out of the parking slot. It squeeks as I turn thr steering wheel. But once I get going, the problem disappears.

It can't be a loose belt because I just had it tightened at Mang Mario's. There's enough fluid naman, but there's aways power steering fluid residue around the pump.

What could be causing this? And are power steering pumps repairable here?

exactly my problem too...yup, looks like the PS pump is the culprit. mine's leaking on top as well. they say its possible to be overhauled once they see the inside pero be ready daw kapag hindi na, mas ok pa raw mag palit nalng. i'm kinda shopping for surplus right now because bnew is definitely a no no. ang mahal! hehe. around 20+k sa banawe.

Sakin may ugong kapag galing sa cold start. After driving for a while nawawala naman. And I also noticed that after a couple of weeks, nasa low level na yung fluid so kelangan lagyan ulit. I've had the P/S pump overhauled just last January sa casa. Binalik ko na din sa kanila once kase nga umugong ulit and I think they just lubricated the steering column. Since then ngayon lang ulit nagkaganito. I'll be bringing it to Speedyfix, sana hindi masyado madugo diagnosis...

*fuego4x2 -- as mentioned, i had my ps pumpt brought down...got the repair kit from IZUPARTS caloocan for P1.3k (eto ang sabi sakin before i left home, i have no update yet kung tama yung kit na itinawag sakin, will post ulit kung mali). yup, it improved a lot...nawala na ingit nya even when idle pero kailangan daw palitan naren yung pulley dun sa ibaba, yung kasama ng water pump ata. (based from my dad kase sha ang nagbantay)

lalong nag squeak yung belt kase yung leak sa top ng pump eh pumunta dun sa belt, kaya nag iingay. will test it once i get home tonight.
