Hi gurus, I'm just wondering if normal ba sa brakepads na hindi pa din fully nakalapat sa discs after 2 months, more or less 1600kms na ang tinakbo? Just had it replaced last November and hanggang ngayon, yung right rear outer disc ko may kalawang pa din. Tapos occasionally may whistling sound sa likod kapag nagppreno. I know that replaced pads take time to fully engage the discs, pero ngayon ko lang naexperience na 2 months na hindi padin. Also, I jacked the rear part and tried to spin that same tire, may resistance xa compared to the rear left one. Should I have this checked already? Thanks in advance!

Might be a stuck caliper. Have it checked.

There's a procedure in brake bedding, google it.

I'd re-face the rotors if there is considerable score, u could actually tell by wiping your fingernails across the rotors. If its too rough that your nails get caught not sliding freely then you should reface. After refacing, follow the bedding procedure.

The problem here is where to do that brake bedding.

It could be a stuck piston, just remove the pads and brake piston, if possible buy a piston seal kit or new piston if the current one is damaged or has rust.

    Happened to me before.

ang tamang way kasi, everytime na magpapalit ng brake pads, re-face ng rotor discs, and brake cleaning/overhaul if necessary.

re-face ng rotors, P300 to P450 pair sa mga suking machine shop. tawaran niyo na lang, unang bungad niyan palagi is P600 for the pair.

kung ganun pa din, baka sira na yung goma sa slider pin (stuck up) kasi kung stuck ang pistons, all the time naka preno ka at mag ooverheat ito, uusok o mangangamoy, kung wala naman bad smell and visible smoke, medyo malaking chance na hindi stuck up ang caliper pistons. have your brakes checked regularly. ito lang ang nagpapahinto sa kotse natin.

Depende sa lalim. MAy tolerance ang runout, usually nasa manual.

Ngayon ko lang napansin sa post ni TS, yung buong rotor ba ang kinakalawang or the portion na walang contact? Kung buong surface, ibig sabihin walang contact and you can tell this instantly by poor "brake feeling". Kung sa front yan, delikado dahil kakabig..

As suggested above, try to check caliper sliding pin. Usually kapag kinalawang ma- stuck up yan. Also inspect square-cut seal, nag eexpand katagalan at possible mag-stuck/ leak.. Use only silicon or non-petrol based lubricant para hindi mag expand yung rubbers.

hindi ako nagpalit nang rotor... reface lang pero parang ang lalim nang brake.

Bleed na pero malalim pa din need pa talapakan nang malalim para kumapit. Ano kaya problem nito? Kulang lang ba sa bleeding.

Gano kakapal pa yung rotor? Have you inquired about the price of replacements? Hows the brake master? Hindi pwede maadjust din yung brake pedal tolerance?

all disc ba yan or combination?? kung rear drum brake combination yan.. dapat adjust yung rear drum brake.. pads should be as close as possible sa drum (you should feel the pads almost touching the drum) wala sa kapal ng front disc ang taas or lalim ng brake pedal.. kahit manipis na brake pads mo pag naka disc brake ka hindi nag babago yung lalim ng tapak mo.. unlike pag drum brake lahat.
