Sound when starting / slowing down / accelerating..

I think this is more of an exhaust system thingy but I don't know where to place the thread... sa mga mods, feel free to transfer na lang po kung nararapat...

I got a minor accident last week.. was backing off to let the car that I double parked into get out.. di ko napansin na yung inaatrasan ko ay hindi pala patag... my exhaust tip somehow got hit by a curb (tipong my left wheel was on course sa isang rampa paakyat.. and yet my right wheel was on level)...

After that I started to hear vibration sounds sa likod (this is an Innova btw)... especially during starting... Kapag mag start, parang nag vivibrate sa likod.. I checked the exhaust tip mismo.. mukhang secure naman sya sa pagkaka mount nya... kapag nag accelerate or nag slow down to a stop.. lumalabas din yung vibration sound... this went on for a week....

yesterday, I took it to a muffler / exhaust shop malapit sa bahay... ang advise nung tumingin was that lagyan ng flexible hose para yung vibration ay sa flexible hose ang sasalo at hindi yung muffler o exhaust tip...

I haggled and eventually went with it...

Ang question ko po:

1. Tama kaya yung assessment ng tumingin? Ano kaya ang koneksyun ng flexible hose dun sa vibration na yun?

I was thinking na kung hindi dapat ganun ang ginawa at since nagawa na rin nya at nabayaran ko na rin siya.. well.. hindi na uli ako babalik doon.. at ipo post ko pa dito kung anong shop yun para iwasan nyo na hehe...

Maybe it would have made more sense if you had gone to another shop for a second opinion before having the work done.

Didn't you ask the person who made the assessment? Did you even ask him what was causing the vibration?

I don't see anything in your post about being coerced by the shop to have the work done. You made the decision knowing that not everyone is honest. You always have the choice to get other professional opinions and later on assess for yourself who is telling the truth. So don't put the blame solely on the shop.
