Problem with power steering pump

Whenever I start the engine, I hear a whirring noise and the mechanic said that there is something wrong with the bearing in the power steering pump. They told me that it has to be replaced and they said that a surplus will do since the original is too expensive. And that the fuel pump can't just be fixed because once you open it, matatanggal daw mga O-ring and the fluid inside.

Surplus - 5.5k
Original - 23.7k

Now i don't have the budget to replace it with an orignal. Do you guys think worth it palitan ng surplus? Or is there any other fix for this?

Personally I dont have anything against surplus parts as long as it can be tested and returned if found "defective" within a few days or weeks.

For vital parts – I prefer OEM for less worries and high risk of back jobs, best thing to do is compare the casa price to those that carry Honda OEMs outside. Good luck

YABU, baka gusto mo palitan na lang ng surplus na p/s pump. Pareho ng kotse ko maingay din ang p/s pump,may tama na pala yung loob esp yun bearing, sa evangelista napapalitan ko 2k lng k n ngayon p/s ko.

I consulted honda q. ave and sabi nila meron naman pala silang repair kit nito. so try ko muna paayos sa kanila before replacing it. mga 3.5k lang damage. so try ko muna siguro yun.

i'd go for the repair kit path.

have you chnaged your fluid? if you did, was it bled properly? improperly bled ps system can cause noise.

I haven't changed it but i added some kasi mejo bawas na. I'm not sure if it was bled. Well i already left may car at honda q. ave. hopefully they can fix it and d ganun kalaki yung damage.

mga sir add ko din pag lumiliko ang van ko right or left meron ako naririnig na sound na humuhuni steering pump din ba yun? check ko din ang level ng steering oil ayos naman?
