shock replacement

Good day!
Guys, how will i know if my shocks, front and rear, are due for replacement. Nagtanong kasi ako sa mekaniko. Yung isa mekaniko sabi palitan na daw tapos nun humingi ako ng second opinion sa isa pa mekaniko ok pa daw ang shocks..Thanks

For smaller vehicles, you can try pushing down a corner and look at the "bounce". If you see more than 1 bounce (like 1.5 bounce or more), the shock might need replacement. Also you can check if there is some oil leaking from the shock's cylinder seals.
