May 6th, 2005 12:20 PM #1i recently discovered a piece of metal rod firmly embedded in my right front wheel. when i tried getting it out, air started to hiss out of it. buti na lang nasa gas station ako't pinalitan ko kaagad.
is it a good idea to have the tire fixed at a vulcanizing shop? bagong bago pa sya, no obvious wear and tear(well, aside from the hole). mas gusto ko sanang palitan na para me peace of mind, pero just wondering if ok lang ipa tapal. i'm planning to make "long" trips kasi, e.g. laguna, cavite.

Dismount the tire and repair from the inside. Basta huwag lang sidewall damage.
Dito sa atin, nagagawan ng paraan ang sidewall damage using techniques used in cargo truck tires. I would not recommend it for vehicles used at high speeds or with high loads but one of vehicles has a tire repaired that way.

If it's not at the sidewall, ok lang to have it repaired (from inside as suggested). Kung sidewall, you'll have to bite the bullet and get a new tire (that what happened to us before... twice).

if under warranty pa yan, baka pwede pa sa mga tire centers natin. pero pag sa sidewall, di sagot ng warranty. happened to me once, nabutas bigla yung gulong wala pang 2 weeks yung tire, since sidewall damage siya hindi daw pwede i-honor yung warranty..weird nga eh..i ended up buying a new tire.

OTEP: 'San lugar yung repairs sa side walls ng tyre? Sayang kasi yung nabutas kong Scorpion A/T. Pwede pang nag-reserve tyre yun. Bago pa eh. TIA.
