    3. Fixed rack and pinion leak with the repair kit.

This are my questions after all those repairs.

    1. Are there other possible source of leaks like the power steering pump itself or steering column?

    2. After my rack and pinion was fixed, I heard a humming sound that sometimes comes up. Sounds like it comes from my left front tire but I can feel the vibration on my clutch pedal. Any idea what is the cause? Could my mechanic have done something that would cause the sound?(like remove the suspension assembly on my left tire in the process of fixing the rack and pinion and incorrectly reinstalling it)

    3. Had an underwash done and and the sound lessened to a tolerable level and transferred to the right side. Is this normal?

    Thanks
Di kaya power steering pump issue yan or may air bubbles within your system? Had the same problem with yours.

    1. You had the P/S gear overhauled and the hoses replaced. Possible source of the leak would be the P/S pump. You should be able to see if there are leaks by inspecting the pump. The steering column has no fluid lines connected to it so no leaks from that. The pinion gear oil seal would have been inspected and replaced during the P/S overhaul. The other possible cause of leaks would be the P/S gear fittings were not tightened properly. You should be able to see if there are leaks after the under wash.

    2. The humming sound is likely due to the replacement high pressure hose used. If this is not original, there is a tendency to for the pump to hum. There is a slightly more expensive hose that is available that causes no or very little humming.

    3. The P/S components are not connected to the clutch components so the vibration is likely not related to the P/S repair you had done. I suggest that you check the engine supports. One of those could be the culprit.

    Hope this helps.

Sir, may pump repair kit available. Mga 5k ang spend mo to have this repaired. Pwede mo delay ang repair but not for long just make sure na di ka maubusan ng fluid.

Re: Power Steering stop leak. What it does is make old, dried out, hardened and worn out rubber seals supple, soft and flexible. It also makes the rubber rubber swell. It is a temporary fix. It buys you some more time but eventually you've got to replace the seals though.

Sir, yung pump kit is about 3K original. Kung pump assembly mas mahal yan. Yes, pwede pagsamahin yung old fluid at new (top up). I assume na ok at malinis pa yung old fluid.

Sir, you will use less than a liter of P/S fluid even if you drain everything. You can re-use but better to replace the used fluid para sure na malinis. Mayroon pa rin matitirang old fluid sa loob ng rack & pinion assembly.

    Hope this helps.
