April 6th, 2009 07:36 PM #1mga sir,
medyo matigas po kasi yun power steering ko ,parang "pawis steering"nga dating e.
i noticed po na medyo natuyuan po kasi yung PSF reservoir ng fluid.kaso di ko alam gaano na katagal nawalan to kasi ngayon ko lang uli nagamit car e.
anyway ,nirefill ko siya ng PSF na STP brand yung red,to the required level kaso ngayon parang wala nangyari e parang ganoon pa rin matigas pa rin siya.
tama po ba yun nirefill ko lang sya without doing any bleeding?or bleed muna dapt?
any tips?or procedure how to bleed the PS fluid if kailangan sya bleed muna?
ok po yun mga belts nya !
btw ride po pala is Galant 7G
thanx

Check it immediately with a mechanic, baka madale pati steering pump mo and baka mag cause pa ng tear sa power steering rack mo. Malamang may leak yung rack bushing mo. You still can steer but matigas. Had it to experience on my Galant. nagbaon lang ako steering fluid papunta sa mekaniko, mag matigas na, karga agad.

April 7th, 2009 11:14 AM #4sir,

April 7th, 2009 02:17 PM #6*sir raine,
sir nafill ko na yung reservoir ng fluid, at nadrive ko na rin sya for the this week , so far as i have observed ,slight lang na gumaan yung steering ko kaso parang di sya ganun kagaan e
pero as of now e di nman sya nagbabawas ng fluid e.
sa pumps ba wala masyado ilolook out as long di sya nagleleak d b?

Sadly, damage may have already been done when the reservoir dried up. The hydraulic power steering is a closed-loop design. It means that the fluid does not get consumed, burnt, or used up the way an engine would consume some oil.
That said, if the reservoir becomes empty, all that PSF went somewhere... most likely a leak that collected in the steering rack bellows. The bellows may hide the symptoms of a leak.
Here's a quote from: http://www.checkthatcar.com/data/pow...luid_level.asp
"Power steering fluid does not get "used up" - other than a leak, there's no reason that the fluid should be low. Fill the reservoir to the proper level and check frequently if you find it low. If it continues to be low, check for leaks and go see your mechanic. An empty power steering pump can be damaged very quickly and is costly to replace."

April 10th, 2009 12:23 PM #8you have to find the source of the leak. hindi dapat nagbabawas yung psf.
