Question lang po.... are second hand tires really dependable? especially with low profile tires? Regarding your question,
In banawe, there is a shop beside Banawe Car-care center which sells slight used 17" tires. They offered me a 90% kumho 215/45/R17 tires for only 3.5k each but I found a lot of 205/40/17 tires there also, not quite sure if they come in pairs. You could also try there. Goodluck!![]()
i've never bought 2nd hand tires, so i can't comment on that point...
but as where to buy, 2 lang pinupuntahan ko, blumentritt and evangelista. from experience mas mura sa blumentritt ng konti
2nd hand tires are not a problem, just make sure the sidewall is not damaged in any way. thread wear should also be at least 60%. some hole patches are unavoidable basta the most important is the sidewall, dpat walang cracks etc
beware of 2nd hand tires.
inspect carefully if it has a crack (even minute ones) already. most people just check if the sidewall is intact.
yeah doble ingat when buying 2nd hand tires..baka kasi anong sira nyan ang hindi mo nakikita..if you got the money naman, then buy brand new ones na lang..
2nd hand tyres? Blumentritt at Evangelista ang the best. Like what the guys said, check for sidewall damage and look for cracks, like what mazda suggested. Cracks on the sidewall or dun sa tread eh tell-tale signs of aging. As far as the tread, try if you can check if the tread still has 2-3mm of the original tread depth remaining sa may center. Anything lower than than 2mm, forget it: it ain't safe.
Also, beware: some shops sell re-groove/re-tread tyres as new ones. Baka ma-dale ka.
Yung turo ren pala sa akin ng roadstar. Carefully check the manufacturing date even when buying bnew tires. Like the tires I had. They were bought last March 2004 by the original owner but they gave him year 2000 manufactured tires so when 5 year rubber life came it just cracked up. it barely made 14mos.
saan ba nakasulat ang date of manufacture ng tire? any code?Originally Posted by madmaxmaloles

sa blumentritt janus clinton hanapin mo si caloy or noel, dami parating na second hand japanese tires, and mags ,meron nga syang 20 "mags less than 35k ,wlang lang money too buy ehh sayang yun
Production code is stamped on the side of the tire, usually 4 digits but may have some letters preceding these numbers, eg, 2505- which means produced on week 25 of the year 2005.
Most japanese tires are good for only 6 years from production date after which they tend to fail.
...i seem to get a good deal on brand new ones sa powerway enterprise along sucat rd. wala nga lang 2nd hand dun.
kapit bahay namin nag re regroove ng mga tires parang pabrica, sabi ng isang worker binebenta daw sa 2nd hand tire shop.about 2-3mm pala ang bawas d halata kaya delikado..
Beware of second hand tires!!!!Tingnan lang mabuti...![]()
