i suggest you get an H&R sport 30mm drop lang para sa A101 mo na corolla pero check out kung ok pa ang shocks kasi sayang lang ma apektuhan ang handling.nag sasakay ako 4 hindi sumasayad.conservative drop lang medyo mas mababa ang likod kesa harap yan ang corolla nakatingala since progressive ang H&R ma cocorrect ang tayo tuwid at unat swabe.

It's not advisable for street cars esp. front wheel drive cars.

H&R would be your best bet. Hindi naman yan taon-taon pinapalitan.
The tukod-look is meant for FWD drag cars to minimize "wheel-hop" during hard launches. Aerodynamics have almost nothing to do with it.

    Ah ok.

I was thinking about the "funny car" class of the old days at NHRA which are RWD cars and had the tukod look - really low fronts and very thin wheels... These went the quarter mile in 7 seconds or less. In hindsight, I think it was so the front wheels won't go airborne as much.

Now funny cars are made of carbon fiber and no longer have the tukod look.

    Its a mistake...
Never, never cut the spring of your suspension as the spring gets old its get lower the constant specially which side of the car got the load most of the time. It may look same, but they are not one is softer than the other even a precison cut wont do no good. If you want to lower the fender clearance you should bought a lowering spring or Coil-over Suspension kit( this is adjustable) or Sports Cup Kit and keep your stock springs.

Okey, pantay 2 months ago and now what, tagilid na. Cutting spring is the cheapest things to lowered a car but this a misinformed to the costumers for safety reason. Cutting an spring also increase stress level on the spring as well as affecting another related chassis component.

Here are some problem you may encounter in your car if you cut the spring.

    1. Poor handling
    2. Poor ride quality
    3. Compromised safety
    4. Premature fatigue and sagging
    5. Shock/ struts bottoming out
    6. Excessive negative camber
    7. Premature tire wear from camber problem

Lahat yan mangyayari sa kotse mo. kaya nakatagilid ang kotse mo ngayon ay (read # 4 and 5) those 2 are now your problem. Correct the problem before it will cost you more. Good luck.

ive made a thread about this already. thats normal for the the EK series (96-00). yung stock height pa yung oto mo, hindi mo lang pansin yan pero talagang mas bagsak yung left sa right kasi dun nakalean yung engine natin. kung gusto mo pantay, just get the coil sleeves... hirap pantayain pero it can be done.

kahit the most expensive lowering spring, hindi papantay yung left sa right. tama din sila to just get the after market springs. yung stock ko hindi ko pinutol kasi naisip ko baka gusto ko stock height ulit in the future.

o well the damage has been done, there are cheap lowering out there, R-1 would cost around 6k for adjustables.

the best thing you can do there is get aftermarket lowering springs or go back to the usual stock height springs.

    ok here's the story..

    ouch.

cutting springs is very bad. search ka na lang about "cutting lowering springs" or "putol lowering springs" and all the relevant information will be there. but in summary - it's a potential safety hazard, it will reduce the life of your shocks, and your car's ride will be uncomfortable, guaranteed.

what's worse, di na yan pede i-reverse. you'll either have to put back the stock springs or get new lowering springs.

lesson na lang sana yan na always make sure you know what's going on with your car at bantayan mo if at all possible. sorry for your misfortune.

Sorry you had to go through what you did. For your questions:

    1. It is never good to cut springs yourself, stock or lowered - my personal experience taught me so . You simply just have to get aftermarket ones that have been weighed and cut to spec for lowering. Period.

    2. Same as the above only this procedure is called a 'budget modification' which should never be compromised especially that it is a performance upgrade. Safety First.

    3. Matagtag is stiff riding meaning the progression or travel of your springs is very limited in terms of flex. Lowering springs are already stiffer than stock because the coil is shorter, minimal shock absorption na. Pair this with your 17s and the thinner 50 series tires then voila! Your butt is now a secondary shock absorber.

You have to understand a lowering spring is not an aesthetic upgrade, it is bolted-on to improve cornering in circuit races, minimizing sway by keeping the car lower to the ground.

Here's a site that may help you: http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles...l_springs.html
