    hi everyone!

Im a newbie here, as well as a newbie when it comes to car driving. My hubby recently acquired a 2002 honda civic vti (di afford brand new e!) 2 months ago and gave it to me. Ngayon, he went overseas na and Im all alone here in manila without anyone to help me in case my car breaks down. The problem is I have a very limited knowledge about car parts and I am starting to hear squeaks on the front side of my car.

I had it checked sa rapide. The mechanic said na may problema n suspension ko, breaks and my kabig na daw. They gave me a whooping quotation for 31,750php for the changes in the tie rod/engine support....etc! I am on a very tight budget so I am looking for other reliable auto repair shops in the area who is budget friendly and also wont take advantage of my lack of knowledge in car parts/engine.

I reviewed some threads here that rapide is a no no, and made recommendations for cruven...but their recommendations were posted way back, now i am seeing bad posts about cruven also. Where will I go now?

    Recommend a good one please.

Is there anyone who can help me out on this major dilemma of mine?

    1. Don't deal with Rapide, you will get robbed.
    2. I also own a Civic ES (01-05), not to alarm you at all, the most expensive part you'll change is the Shock Absorber, the original OEM from casa is the Tokico brand, will cost you 7-8k per piece (front). KYB shocks cost 4.5k - 5k+++ (front) depends on where you buy it. There are many attributes that causes that squeaking sound but the most expensive part that can be replaced is the shocks. Tie rods, ball joints and other rubber dampening might also need replacing but it wont cost half as much.

What I'll do is to have it inspected at Honda casa (Honda SPA preferably, this will cost you 1.5k - 2.5k just for inspection), buy the part that needs to be replaced (if budget permits), or buy a replacement part in Banawe then do the labor in front of the shop.

You can refer to this thread, I also have a post there:

Hi just have 3 of my 4 shocks replaced courtesy of BANAWE AUTO SUPPLY thanks to sir Reggie.

Ok trumabaho yung mechanic ni sir Reggie for a reasonable price. Mabilis at malinis gumawa. Dumating ako dun 3:30pm paalis na ako by 5:20pm. Less than two hours to remove all 4 shocks, inspect and replace 3 shocks and one broken mounting and reassemble all four shocks.

Don't hesitate to call sir Reggie of Banawe Auto Supply Tel. 712-0115. 2 thumbs up para kay sir Reggie and his team
