Kung gagawin ko mag-isa, mas matagal, mahihirapan pa ako, walang gagawa nung trabaho ko sa office, bawas sa leave (which will definitely cost me more than the mechanic's labor fee). Kulang pa ako sa kagamitan. So for me, no DIY when it comes to brakes.

Saka sabi nga dun sa link na ibinigay ni userfriendly, "If you are unsure about how to perform any of the tasks involved in changing brake pads, stop immediately and consult a mechanic." I fall in this category. hehehe.

YMMV, I'm sure. Just my 2 cents... sharing the pros and cons...

Only after trying will you know whether you have the knack for it or not. But have a competent mechanic check your work afterwards. For some people, it's better and fun to DIY, and for others it's more practical to let a mechanic do the work.

Just remember that a proper brake job is crucial. I'd rather have a car that wouldn't start than a car that wouldn't stop.

+ 1 on this and dun sa nagsabi ng the brakes is one of the most important parts of a car ..
