    Sa ngayong po eh 17" ang size ng aking rims and 215/45/R17 ang specs ng tires. Eh parang hirap humatak yung kotse ko dahil mabigat ang rims at parang madaling magdeteriorate ang suspension and steering dahil malaki ang rims. Ano po ang ideal tire size pag nagdowngrade ako papuntang 15s or 16s? Malaki kaya ang magiging improvement lalo na sa fc if pinaliitan ko ang aking mags? Salamat peeps!

    ang rule sir pag add ka 1" sa mags diameter dagdag ka 20mm sa tire width tapos bawas 10mm sa tire height (profile)

    215/45/R17 -> 195/55/R16 -> 175/65/R15

    I point you to the classic Miata.net Tire Size Calculator.
    Tire size calculator

    If you're downgrading to 16" the closest matching tire sizes are 195/55 R16 or 205/55 R16. You might have trouble sourcing the former tire size though.

    Further downgrading to 15" the closest match is 185/65 R15.

    Or perhaps go for lighter rims? Kahit 17s pa rin, basta light weight.

    kunin mo sir ung 15" lang, maganda sa body ng car at walang ka probleproblema, yan gamit ko ngayon at hindi ka pa madaling masabugan ng gulong, balita ko yung mga 17" madaling maplatan.

    Downsizing won't net you any gain if your new mags are too heavy. There are some heavy-ass 15" rims out there that weigh as much as 17s.

    When I'm shopping for lightweight rims, I bring a bathroom scale along with me, to compare them to each other.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    Not necessarily. My stock wheels were 14s, I drove and raced with 16s for two years. Punctures weren't a problem. Unsprung weight was. Making a 45-profile tire's sidewalls strong enough usually means more weight, which means more of a drain on my engine and more cost to replace tires.

    Now I run 15s and was lucky enough to get a set of some very light wheels, 11 lb each.

    light weight rims is the way to go. hehehe

    am uing 205/50R16. pero almost no effect sa FC (1.3 engine) kasi light weight ang rims. 195/55R16 sana kasa mas mahirap hanapin.

    mas stable ang takbo using the 205/50R16 kasysa sa stock na 185/70R14.

    Nagpalit ako ng rim from 17" to 19" with 16kg (35lbs) difference, no effect sa FC.

    Manual calculation ko 9.73kpl (17" rim) vs 9.8kpl (19" rim). Na-offset ang gravitational weight vs angular momentum ng rim pag tumatakbo na yung car. So, hindi issue ang rim weight lalo na kung less than 50lbs lang yan.
