    difference of DOT 3 & DOT 4?

Is it possible to mixed them? Because i forgot to ask the mechanic which brake fluid did he add durings pms..

    Edit:
The brand of brake fluid is not stated on the manual. So, in this case, what brand can you recommend for me to use?

    Thanks
Brake fluid absorbs moisture so it's good to replace this from time to time. Most manuals recommend every 40,000kms but in my case i do this every 20,000kms. Mura lang naman.

Difference between DOT3 and DOT4 is their heat range; DOT4 can take higher tempatures and is used mostly for performance purposes suchas track days or those who do a lot of hard mountain driving. In most cases, DOT3 is fine. The only time i have encountered oveheating brake fluid was on the track. DOT4 is more expensive and i think they are more hygroscopic.

Need your opinion brothers. My car is nissan sentra 2007 gx model. I have to replace my break pads to original kasi yung bendix na gamit ko hindi maganda for my tires. Then my wheels need bearing replacement I got this quote from a mechanic that works for nissan. All original parts daw toh. Note lng i hhome service niya yung repair

bring it to banawe or pedro gil, po. i do this, and i get off-the-shelf parts, as recommended by the mekaniko there.
    you can save about 50%.
and casa does not hold the patent to parts quality.
just stay away from the "very cheap" parts.. you know.. "the parts bayan sellers use"..
    heh heh.

AFAIK di pwede silocone grease as brake/pin grease.

    negative....

ginamit ko e silicone compound (not the sealant). a rubber friendly compound.

regular grease yung madaling tumigas bro.

Now gamit ko yung Wurth Brake paste yung tig 100/sachet which is good for 2 wheels na. So far more than 6 months na nandun pa din siya.

    Depends on the
    condition of traffic
    average speed you drive
the gross weight of the car(car+pax+cargo)
    brake pad friction material

I got that bro, thanks. It just seems like I'm replacing rotors more this decade than in the 2000's. Must be getting old hehe. Do you replace your rotors after 2mm wear? Ako after 2 refacings sakto halos lagi 2mm wear limit na. The Tucson had the fastest rotor wear of all our cars. The rears had to be replaced at 40TKms.

There are high temp silicone greases that are specifically for brake use. I get mine from Concorde. Any petroleum based grease will eat through rubber eventually.

^ for ours i just replace right away rather than reface in most cases since replacement rotors are quite affordable.
