Bigger disk brakes for my Honda civic SIR

hmm... malakas na siguro engine mo kaya you need to upgrade your brakes. for me upgrading brakes is only necessary when racing because your car is tuned to racing specs.

yup. that's what i did when i swapped in a turbo motor to my car. also upgraded my brakes to bigger discs and 2pot calipers (from a VR4).

The Bendix Metal Kings cost a little over 1K usually. They say it eats the rotors (all brake pads do... it's just a matter of how fast) but i assume it depends on the quality of the OEM rotors of the car as on Nissans, the peeps i know have no problems with the metal kings on the long term use even on the track... but i've heard from some Mitsu peeps that their rotors were eaten up fast.

Ssaloon, would you have a pic of the VR4 brakes and calipers?

hinde naman malakas oto ko tama lang 14.4 sa 1/4 mile! stco lang ng sir kasi brakes ko ngaun na crossdrilled lang ung rotors ko! ehh palitin nrin ksi ung mga brake pads ko ngaun kya iniisip ko kung sabay ko narin ung upgrade ng brakes! isapang iniisip ko ung mag palit nung type-r na 5 stud kaso wala akong idea kung san makakuha ng ganun ang kung how much!

5 stud just like all type R's. bendix pads are available in most suking auto supply shops.

imo the stock brake system of the SiR is inadequate. you should upgrade the whole brake system + bigger mags.

Yup... considering the speed of the damn thing.

Di naman inadequate for the VTi, but given the speeds the SiR can reach, it ought to have less pedestrian brakes.

But don't forget to get better rubber while you're at it, Mamar. Brakes are worthless if your tires aren't up to the task.

wla naman po cguro problema sa goma ko ksi naka advan po ako! siguro try ko po muna palit na magandang klaseng brake pads!

Guys malaki ba talaga differnce ng stoping power ng type-r na brakes kesa sa stock brake ng SIR?
nag palit nako ng magandang brake pads eh ok naman lumakas naman preno ko pero i want more stoping power eh!

Usually Brembo GT big brake kit(4pot) runs between $2,000 up(front only).
