sabi ay mas maganda daw ang nylon kaysa sa steel thread... totoo ba ito??

madali daw kalawangin ang mga steel thread at madali daw ma oblong kaysa sa nylon na di na ooblong?

we are planning to change tire kc dati namin tire is steel thread at na oblong nga ito matapos namin ma gutter last month. ngayon ay talagang oblong na tire namin.

maganda ba talaga nylon tires? mas maganda ba talaga quality?? any comments, suggestions??

I'd go for steel plies anytime.

Teka, may nagbebenta pa ba ngayon ng nylon-threaded tires??

maraming possible point of view dyan...years ago naipost ko na rin yung info...pero mahirap siya isearch.

my dad used to work at the BF Goodrich plant in marikina.

    1) Steelbelted tires have lesser number of kilometer usage. The steel won't hold pagmanipis or malutong (weather-checked na) na ang rubber unlike the nylon belted. Marami kasing ply ng nylon (7 to 10 layers) compared to steelbelt.

    2) Steelbelted have better handling sa pako. Pero I think okay na rin ang nylon ngayon basta tubeless tires.

    3) Steelbelted is cheaper to produce than nylon belted tires (this was info nung late 70's, baka iba na ngayon).

    4) Steelbelted tires can not be re-threaded (recapping) or recycled for re-use. Sa Nylon belted pede as long as the nylon thread is intact.

    5) Steelbelted tends to deform when run flat and when you run it over a big hole with high force, lolobo. Sa Nylon belted, this is not an issue...kasi makapal ang layers ng nylon thread.

sa over all, ano mas maganda in terms of quality at durability talaga. mostly, city driving lang nmn kmi, every month lang kmi out of town.. sa price, di nmn kmi concerned dun masyado as long as di msyado mahal...

most gulong ng pick-up are still nylon thread (8 ply ang nakalagay)...most car gulong (specially the low profile) are steel belted na.

yup, meron pang nylon these days. a friend was offering BridgeStone nylons at 1,950 each. tama lang ba?

ganun din ang sabi niya, pag nalubak e mas di nag ooblong. steel belted i think has better handling -- a non issue for me since i seldom drive beyond 80kph anyways B) ung sakit ko e di ako marunong umiwas sa lubak

I'd prefer more stable handling after a flat than a tire that can be reused. To each his own, though.

I think the resistance to damage from going flat or hitting a pothole is also in tire design. My current steel-belts have withstood numerous potholes that have left dents as deep as half an inch in my mags. And these are low-pros, mind you.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

for me nasa brand narin ng tire yan .. example yung yokohama aspec (195/60/15) OEM tires ng altis, i was traveling around 80-90 Km/h and suddenly i hit a small hole (asphalt) yung usual dito sa pinas .. then kinabukasan i found out na may bukol na sa sidewall yung tire sa harap and even the mags is scratched badly ..

pero sa bridgestone dueler H/T 245/70/16 ok naman walang problems regarding bukol or oblong .. we even drove it sa SAMAR, i think the worst cemented road dito sa pinas .. ok naman ..

i think sa brand may konting difference din .. our bridgestone was made in japan and the YOKO's are only made in RP .. does this depend din ba?
so is it sa brand or sa series ng tires?

which is better, steel thread or nylon thread tires?
