    asus,
    there are three possible reasons for your power steering to make noise;
    a. growling- the system probably has low oil level or wrong type of p/s
    fluid or is foaming

    b. grinding- the bearing is going bad from the p/s belt adjusted too tight
or simply needs to be retired

    c. if it is that of the sliding vane type pump (99% of the p/s pumps in a
car), it might have created a wear pattern on the housing
from using the wrong type fluid or running them low for an
    extended period sometime.
sure the bearing can be replaced, just replace the oil seal too while you're
at it (MAW- might as well), then flush the system and
replenish with new compatible oil (be careful, honda and acura
are very particular of their own or compatible oil, using any
other oils destroys the seals and the hoses)

    asus,
so it has morning sickness, your car might be pregnant, hehehehehe.
drain and change the power steering fluid with a factory recommended fluid. it' probably contaminated. then bleed the system by suspending the front wheels while turning the steering wheel left to right or right to left and repeat until there's a change in the noise level. not doing this causes cavitation of the pump and makes this noise. prolonged cavitation damages the pump innards

sama na ako sa thread na ito. may problema din po kasi yung ps pump ko. may parang whinning sound siya na sumasabay sa rpm, the higher the rpm, the faster the sound it produced. yung sound is parang yung sound pag nanood ka ng mga car race na F1 or like using a grinder pero mas mahina siya. mas naririnig mo siya if nasa loob ka ng sasakyan. sabi nga ng anak ko parang may mumu sa loob.
narerepair po ba yung ps pump? or may bearing ba siya sa loob? engine is nissan GA16i. TIA

Check fluid level sir, I had this experience nung running at almost empty na yung reservoir(for a short distance lang naman 5km) may leak kse yung pump ko. after I filled it up with fluid again wala na yung sound, smooth na ulit.
