abs light turns on

Need your advise on this.
I have a 97 GLI. When I turn the ignition on, the ABS light turns on, then shuts down after it does a self test and you hear a "churn " sound. Then I drive away after that. However yesterday while driving, the ABS llight turns on.
What I did was pulled over, shut down the engine and restarted. ABS light went away. Then drove off.
After an hour and half while driving back home, umilaw ulit siya. then did same procedure tapos nawala ulit ilaw.
Hit a bump then the light went on again. tapos when I arrived home did the restarted it again tapos nawla na ulit yun light.
What could be causing this? maluwag kaya connection yun ABS sensor niya or maluwag yun fuse niya?
Any suggestions on how to fix this and any shop out there aside from casa that can fix this po?

It could be the ABS sensor itself needs cleaning or needs replacing.
