Uso ang McPherson strut nowadays because it is cheap and compact. Even Honda started using struts on Civics due to cost cutting and space constraints (they used to use double wishbones).

However, struts are not really that bad. Most BMW models use struts. It all boils down to tuning and having a good structure to attach the struts on.

what do ppl actually mean pag sinabing "sports" suspension? Mas madali bang masira?

When they sports suspension, the stock setup is replaced with a firmer set of shocks & springs, improved road handling when cornering would be the advantage, in expense of ride comfort.

i wouldn't say na madaling masira, sa condition ng mga kalsada natin ngyn. siguro. pero depende pa rin sa driver yun.
