It may have already been answered before but can you please educate me regarding the cost of maintaning a Subaru Forester?
Gauge ko po budget ko if kakayanin or i-scrap out ko na lang hehe.
Wifey and I really wanted it but reading from some forums that a tail light costs 30k each, a light cover costs 15k each.. a PMS is around 30k.. makes me want to look somewhere else considering it's my first time to own and just learned how to drive.

    Appreciate your feedback po.. TIA!
Saan mo nabalitaan PMS is 30k??? Normal PMS is not different from other brands. Plus, the current gen Subarus are every 10,000km oil change.

Mahal yung gear oil changes, since 4wd so may front and rear. Last gear oil change from the casa was 11k so still manageable. Aabot ng 20k plus if sasabay mo yung PMS.

Actually mahal na rin parts ng mga bagong Jap cars. Mura yung mga late model other Japs kasi madaming surplus. Sa Subaru no choice but to buy brand new.

My 2013 Forester is out of warranty so I have it serviced sa suking Rapide. They have the proper equipment naman so kaya nila the engine oil and gear oil changes. Proper oils lang need mo kasa special yung oil needed for CVTs and gear oil.

When is the gear oil replaced? I do know that CVTF is replaced at 40k KM actual mileage.

Usually every 40K kms din pinapalitan gear oil unless fully synthetic (na totoong fully synthetic), kaya ata nun 80K kms.

By casa standards every 20k km or 2 years.

In my case, my next non-casa oil change will require CVT/gear/oil change at 45k km. :-)

Changing cvt fluids or atf should be at 40k km, according to the manual.

Eto cguro baka mas mahal sa Subaru after warranty compared to other Japanese cars -- replacement for those Steering Responsive Headlights and Bulbs na comes with all TOTL models moving forward. Subaru lang meron nito (yun part) so OEM lang pwede replacement, pero super cool lumilingon headlight pattern kung san ka papunta -- pero syempre, di lang bulb yan may motor din etc.

I have one so did the research bago bilin, pano pag nasira? Lifetime part naman daw ito so never dapat mapundi, pero on the event na mabanga or malasin sa factory defect after warranty hindi ko alam kung covered-- mukhang mahal nasa 350 USD per side yun OEM replacement. So pag meron ka nito mas sulit insurance cguro kahit out of warranty na just in case.

So sa nagtitipid, go for the non-TOTL bowl headlights if meron.

Hello, paAdvise naman po mga master esp. Forester owners.
    I'm a newbie and 1st time owner.
May I know what are the basic things to check weekly or monthly?
I know my unit is still under warranty but what are the things I can do on my side?
I am aware to check tire pressure but how often should you do this?
Do I need to refill the coolant or maintain it to max?
Can I fill the radiator with distilled water?
Do I need to buy a washer fluid or water with dishwashing liquid is ok?

    Thanks so much!

    di naman kailangan na forester...

    observe lng the coolant..

tire pressure visual daily...note the sidewall bulge.

windshield washer.. get the mix from ace of you hardly use it. otherwise filtered water lng
