Yesterday, I finished the 30k KM PMS for my 2010 Forester 2.0 XS. However, during the checkup, the service advisor recommended the following be replaced:
1. A/C Filter
2. Air Filter
3. Stabilizer link
4. Stabilizer bar bushing
5. Front Brake Pads (3.4 mm remaining)
6. Rear Brake Pads (3.7 mm remaining)
Total parts & labor cost is over Php 27k at M.I..
Since the car is out of warranty, it doesn't make sense to spend this much. The service advisor was kind enough to suggest I try Fusion R for cheaper brake pads.
Can anyone advise me if/where I can find alternatives for all this?
Thanks.

March 9th, 2014 11:58 AM #2let's see...
pinapa-hanginan ko lang ang air filter ko...
hinuhugasan ko ang aircon filter ko..
if your stabilizers aren't causing problems, mebbe you don't have to replace them yet..
brake pads? ask the parts stores in pasay rotonda, paco, or banawe if they have equivalents. or, you can have them re-bonded with new friction pads..
kuripot prince, that's me!

March 10th, 2014 04:13 PM #3bumili ka nalang ng mga nasabing parts saka mo ipakabit sa isang ordinary shop 100%
baka wala pa sa kalahati ng 27k ung bayaran mo baka pinaka malaki na ung 10K

I've already made an appointment sa Fusion R. Less than 5k lang brake pad set including labor. Definitely more affordable.

August 18th, 2020 10:29 AM #8a relative once tried to replace just the bushes.
sandali lang, sira na naman.
he had since purchased the much more expensive oem assembly.
it's still ok, after several years.
tiempo-tiempo lang siguro, depende sa materials used.
do you believe in cruvens? (relative didn't use this; he used something else.)
kinda reminds me of that serial features program on how cuban car aficionadoes manage to keep their 50s cars going... where frankencar-ing is a literal backyard and frontyard industry...Last edited by dr. d; August 18th, 2020 at 10:45 AM.
