Yes, they are CBU from Japan.
As far as I know they have no ASEAN plant unlike most of the other Japanese brands.

finally a non-FWD made in japan car with an affordable price. Pag thai or local CBU kasi drive ko parang lagi nasa isip ko "ginawa nila to para sa 3rd world country unlike for the high class japanese market". Matibay to pero problema talaga parts , service tsaka gas-eater

Wow! The price is just RIGHT! Impreza vs Civic... of course Impreza na ako. AWD ba naman eh! Grabe ah... dati pagnakakita ka ng impreza pang uber mayaman lang talaga... ngayon pwede na magkaroon sa price na 1M!!!

Actually thats something they should have done before, since they've always had affordable non-turbo models... I just wonder why Motor Image Philippines never sold it here before until now.

Anyway, Better Late Than Never...
