June 25th, 2008 11:20 PM #13Got to check out the Forester (and test drive the 2.5 a bit) earlier today and maganda pala sya!
2.0L price is 1,288,000 and it has these as standard: HID, fog lights, large moonroof, driver side power seats, 6-disc changer, steering controls/cruise control, etc.
2.5L Turbo price is 1,698,000 and difference is some external kit like bigger rims and leather seats.
I think best buy yung 2.0L if you look at the specs (esp if vs. something like CRV) but I don't know how powerful the engine or how good/bad fuel consumption will be.

June 26th, 2008 03:15 AM #17I got these from the websites. Mukhang for 08 models pero di naman siguro lalayo ang 09:
CRV 2.0 -- HP=150 PS * 6200 rpm // Torque -- 19.4 kgm * 4200 rpm
Forester 2.0 -- HP=158 * 6400 rpm // Torque -- 19 kgm *3200 rpm
CRV 2.4 -- HP=170 * 5800 rpm // Torque -- 22.2 kgm * 4200 rpm
Forester 2.5 -- HP=230 * 5600 rpm // Torque -- 32.6 kgm * 3600 rpm
Performance-wise, it seems sa 2.5 lamang ng malaki ang Forester (I believe it's the fastest CUV available short of the higher model bimmers). Lalo na considering internet feedback so far says mas matipid pa sa gas ang XT kesa sa CRV 2.4.
Sa 2.0 mukhang halos pareho. Pero the Foz 2.0 has AWD standard while the CRV does not. Kaya expect acceleration to be owned by the Foz ... sa dulo naman halos patas lang. Mahuli man Foz ng konti dahil sa weight lang siguro. And I believe it has more kit ...

June 26th, 2008 10:08 PM #20yup! was fortunate enough to have seen it last monday. formal viewing at the showroom will be this saturday. i think that's their launch date. i was informed, though that some already got their units. look out for those lucky guys out on the road.
i find it to be a very good looking ride. the only thing that hindered us from buying one 3 years ago was the very short rear legroom.
the 09 model has excess legroom now, and is bigger all around with a bigger trunk, reclining rear seats cool cabin lights and taller stance. it doesn't look like a wagon anymore. to some that might be a put-off, but to me it's just perfect.
i can't wait to get one.
i'm now selling my almost 3 year old Mazda Tribute... anyone?
peace out!
