I know this from the very start yet I still pushed through with it. To each his own. Everyone has a preferred brand regardless of the maintenance/parts costs.

Subaru is like highway robbery here if one will consider the monstrous traffic we face everyday. tapos gasolina pa, gasoline engine tend to deteriorate faster sa bumper to bumper traffic

Hardly any recalls. During the 5yr ownership, im sure minimal cost for most buyers.

I would think if one decides to buy an expensive brand, cost of parts should not be an issue. IMO.

Subaru is not a premium brand ... they are at par with Honda and Toyota ... and yet their parts price(s) are much more expensive than Honda or Toyota ...

When I get my XV, is there really no way to drive it legitimately when the OR/CR is still in processing state? Do you have to really take the risk if you want to drive it right away? My SA said that the processing time for these docs would be around two weeks starting from the car's release date.

I got mine in exactly 10 business days. Looking at the date on the OR/CR though, it was ready in about 5 days.

    The usual culprit..batch processing haha

If you really need it early though I'm pretty sure you can convince your SA to get it earlier from LTO. I believe their liaison goes to LTO just once a wekk; you can probably request him/her to make a special case for you since you need it sooner.

The first ever 2018 XV that was released to a customer here in our country was last September 23 according to my SA. And no he did not inform me of any of the dates. This is from Subaru Manila Bay.

Does the base 2.0i variant really have a reverse cam? The demo unit at Greenhills yesterday didn't have one and the SA said it's impossible to have one installed (as usual). The MI PH brochure he gave out however said that the camera is standard on all variants. I also checked local sites and they all confirmed that all XVs have cameras.

The base model that I test drove didn't have one and the SA also said he knows that it should have one.

No reverse cam for the base model.

Thanks. Will have to clear that up when I schedule a test drive.

They have to update their brochures. I hope someone finds a way to integrate the camera's output to one of the screens. Last resort is via an add-one rearview mirror like my old car.

I checked with Winterpine; so far they don't have a reverse cam yet for the XV. Should be just a matter of time though before we can have one installed.

Saw it on display at a mall (base model). Was disappointed that it didn't even have a backup camera and the cargo looked like you couldn't even put a baby stroller/school bag/stroller in it. And I also couldn't tell the difference between the previous model and this. It looked more like a facelift.
The next day I saw a TOTL during the evening and I liked the taillights as well as the rear. That's when I noticed the difference between this all-new and the previous.
