For which variant will the HK head unit arrive with?

I see. It's unfortunate that I haven't found time yet to see it in the flesh. Has anybody tried a test drive on either variant?
For those getting 2018 base model of the XV, would you upgrade your HU to the Panasonic one? Thinking if it'll be better than the stock unit.
I have the same exact predicament here. You have one month to test the stock HU though. The Panasonic HU has the "Weblink" feature and no Android Auto/Apple Carplay but I can't find any reference to this Weblink feature in Google. Does anyone know how this feature compares to Anroid Auto/Apple Carplay?

I don't understand, I thought the XV has a remote start feature? I'm here in Subaru Manila Bay test driving it and sabi nila wala daw siya ganung feature. Apparently yung "smart entry" niya is keyless entry lang. Ganun ba talaga or mali lang yung agent?

I just got back from the Motor Image dealer along EDSA. I felt the SA knew much more about the features compared to the usual SA's from other dealerships.

I've read the reviews and all the release articles extensively so I knew most. What the SA did was actually demo them to me one at a time. Which means he's already played with the car.
EDIT: he even corrected me that there were 7 airbags instead of 6 when I was talking about the safety features to my wife.

That's what I said.
"Hindi po ba Starlink yung HU?"
"Hindi po. Original Harman Kardon yan."
I didn't bother arguing with him on it as I was more interested on the other features. And frankly, the head unit didn't look high-end to me.

I'm thinking about it. I wasn't able to test drive though, there was a line and I had to be back in QC by 3pm.

There were a couple of media guys today (so the SA tells me) and they were first in line. I knew then and there that they would probably be doing a review and not your run of the mill test drive.

Still no word on which model of Panasonic HU they're going to replace the stock with.. at any rate, has anyone here tried the mirrorlink feature they say will be available in the new HU?
I tried it yesterday, it's really called Weblink and is made by Abaltatech. Check Download WebLink Host App - Abalta Technologies, Inc. I didn't get it to work even when the app is already installed in my phone (Galaxy S8). The software feels like a Chinese knockoff. One of the SA's I dealt with also said that the stock HU is more responsive than the Panasonic.
