Wow, Eyesight included for models to be released next year? I wonder why they didn't include it in models released/to be released this year.

According to our SA in BGC the Eyesight software is still being calibrated to our traffic conditions. We rode on a premium that had the Eyesight cameras (disabled we were told) from BGC to Pasig and the proximity warning sensors kept beeping because of the usual motorcycle swarm.

Hahaha that makes sense. Too many false alarms if implemented pre-maturely here in our country.

Our Jetta have these proximity warning sensors that chirp when objects are near the car. It can get annoying in usual bumper-to-bumper traffic. It does have the option to mute the warning sound.

Lots of electronic nannies on cars these days. Add the Altis V and the CX-5 TOTLs to the list.

What do these have? These "toys" are what makes a car worth it for me. I'm not muxh of a car enthusiast but the tech inside them (Subaru Eyesight and Honda Sensing) is what makes me excited.

Too many distractions. Might lull the driver into a false sense of security and depend too much on the electronic doodads. And get off my lawn

Yes but as long as you have the option to disable these then all is good. That's just me though as I'm a tech geek.

Don't get me wrong. I like tech. I just don't like being nagged and when I drive I want to feel like I'm in control. The only override I'm willing to tolerate is the wife

Yeah. But remember, Eyesight and Sensing are a suite of features. You won't be getting nagged for things like adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection (during turn signaling only) and the like. But yeah, to each his own
