parang eroplano lang yan, pag naka autopilot less priority na nya ang fuel efficiency. kung pwede lang ayaw ng airline yun laging umaakyat ang eroplano kasi nalulugi sila sa fuel tax

Can anyone confirm of your Starlink HU's auto brightness works? Mine never adjusts its brightness regardless of the ambient light. This means that during the night, the brightness stays at full and is very blinding to the driver. I have to swtich brightness to manual mode and set it to the lowest setting. This gets really annoying.

Can you try changing the wallpaper to something darker?

Do you have a manual brightness adjustment roller on the lower dashboard to the left of the steering wheel? If this is set to max brightness the HU won't dim when the headlights are on. Set it to at least one click dimmer and the HU will switch to night mode when the lights are turned on.

Yes, I do and I think it is set to max. Ok, that makes sense. So the "auto" brightness mode of the HU depends on when the headlights are on or off and doesn't havr itw own light sensor.

Another question. Based on the manual, the headlights level automatically adjusts depending on the car load. Non-Philippine models have the manual level adjustment roller which was purposely removed in our units. Has anyone confirmed that the headlights level really change automatically?

Our HU has 6 available wallpapers. They can be changed under the user options. I added a new user and did not use the default.

The base model still has a manual headlight level roller beside the dash brightness roller. I set it to the highest level and so far no one has flashed us even with a full load of adults. It's fun playing with it as one can imagine that the car has popup headlights

It was an AHA!!! moment. We were driving around with Waze on and the brightness annoyed me. I usually turn off my 3's display while driving as I like it dark so I had to find a solution. After going through all the menus and failing to fix the issue I suddenly remembered the dash brightness roller and how my wife told me she liked it turned up all the way. One click down and voila the HU screen darkened and Waze shifted to night mode.

Ok, I can change the wallpaper now. The headlight trick to dim the HU worked. So auto mode switches between level 6 brightness (when the headlights are off) and to whatever level your brightness roller is set to (when the headlights are on). That'a kind of a rudimentary way of automating brightness, not impressed

This is the first time I've driven a CVT and I'm not sure if this is normal. When accelerating from a low speed (as in after doing a full brake, e.g. coming from a high hump), the car doesn't feel powerful enough (parang hindi naka first gear) unless I step on the gas until it goes to around 1300 RPM or so.

The same behavior happens when I'm uphill, say in a parking building where I need to drive to higher floors to find a parking slot.

I'm comparing this to my previous daily driver (2008 Montero Diesel) wherein parang sensitive enough siya during low gears.

    *rerramos

Yung light sensor ng XV mo na nasa taas ng windshield, hindi ba talaga siya nakagitna dun sa parang square area kung nasan siya?

cvt will always use higher ratios...its like 12gears. nasa 3rd or 4th or 5th at slow pace... press deeper it will drop 1 or 2 or 3 gears down. its meant for minimal fuel use...

Ahhh kaya pala! It does feel like it's using higher gears when at slow pace kaya parang walang power. So talagang ganun pala talaga siya. Thanks!

Partly to the size of the Fiesta and its DCT tranny. Subaru's CVT is softer off the line compared to Ford's CVT.

My Fiesta Ecoboost feels more responsive on throttle inputs and feels to pull harder off the line compared to my Forester XT despite the XT being a lot quicker to triple digit speeds.

I do find dual clutch trannies to be more responsive than conventional AT or CVT. Ford's DCT needs a bit of learning to get used to it but applying throttle input the same way like an MT car helps. VW's DSG is smoother and offers a feel more like a conventional AT. VW's DSG also shifts quicker than Ford's DCT.

How much improvement does the new FB20 engine offer compared to the older model? The previous gen XV sprints from 0 to 100 kmh in just over 10 seconds.
