*bobcas, thanks very much for sharing this information. by the increase alone shown in paper, one will feel the tremedous improvement!

what i am also surprised is the stock horsepower count. BHP and HP have very similar computations though, but 146.6bhp*3500rpm is much much less than the one found in brochures at 160hp*3500rpm! I guess the Power Steering and Airconditioning among the amenities found in our Stradas took up too much power...

Aside from the Strada, i guess the current Pajero needs this more- same engine (3.2 4M41), heavier body!

You are right sir ian, that at the wheels the bhp is much less than what is depicted in hp in our brochures. The tranny together w/ the what you have mentioned does take some of the hp when you measure it at the wheels. These readings at the dyno were all taken with the full load of the AC at full blast. We do have the similar engine with the current Pajero, what I heard was its ECU is set at a higher setting to take care of the weight difference.

The thing you must remember about factory HP and TQ rating this is crack hp, Not the HP the vehicle puts to the wheels. You can expect around a 18 percent lose of power through the drivetrain so the factory numbers are pretty dead on.

So if you see a vehicle advertised at 200hp it will make around 185 to 180 on the dyno which measure your wheel horsepower. All factory ratings are based on this because they only dyno the engine itself on a engine dyno not the vehicle.

thanks for sharing this information po dvldoc.

just thinking aloud... if the alto is at 47hp then what more kapag dynoed with the body and with a/c blast? 30-35hp lang? yikes!

i think the power zap will be greater with a heavier body with the same engine- the 3.2 on a Strada vis-a-vis Montero Sport and Pajero. yup the OEM chip on the Pajero was tuned to give a greater amount of power & torque plus the transmission as well.

Doc bobcas, definitely another monster on the streets. Congrats! Well, I might settle w/ my 146hp 3.2L engine, para di ma tempt makipag-karera. Just recently, I blasted past two Dmax 3.0 who initiated the race. When we reached a straight hiway, I breezed past them at 140kph, w/ the engine wanting some more. Sarap ng tunog ng engine at that point. Growling... Oops, drive safely nga pala.

As you can see the D4D engine actually makes similar HP power to your engine. But kills it on Torque. There motor does drop off more in power in the higher rpm ranges.

You don't want to race this DMAX, it's was makiing so much power we thought it might break loose on the dyno. We couldn't get the transmission to stay in second after we change nozzles to the D04 (4 gallons per hour)

This thing is a torque monster and can roast the tires First run on the alcohol was just on rubbing alcohol, the second was on Gin The tq if you look at the charts is well above 400lbs. But this shows you again what kinds of gains can be had with just alcohol injection alone. If this vehicle was chipped the power would be beyond impressive. The Fortuner we did with the Unichip could roast the tires in 4 wheel drive with 3 people in the vehilce and the aircon on full.

But this DMAX makes a easy 225hp and 400lbs of Torque on the bone stock engine with just alcohol injection.

Thank you Doc Boz but my racing days are over. I just wanted to have my engine tuned to its fullest & to have the best possible cooling for it especially on my trips to the province. There is this feeling of confidence on the road that you have when you know that your engine wont fail you on those situations when you need its pulling power the most. Next project would be my audio setup, hopefully my intended subwoofer would already be released in the market.

    I hear you.

But the Hp/tq increase of the water injection is just a nice side effect, It makes your engine more efficient, Run cooler and keeps it around 95% carbon free on the inside which goes a long way to increase engine life. There is no engine additive or set up that will do more for engine longevity. High Exhaust gas temps and Carbon/soot buildup are what kill turbos and engines.

Feel free to ask anyone with the kit installed on there vehicle, The vehicle runs better than it did before especially the high kilometer ones and that's with the system off, because the engine got steam cleaned.

. Guess lang... JL slim sub? Pang car show na talaga yan.
dvldoc, clarify ko lang if you were referring to the Hilux or Dmax. The sheets indicate Hilux kc. Kindly PM me re: cost of installing chip alone or chip+methanol.

Atty. Marc cost would depend on how you would want your system to be installed. Call Speedlab for the options that you would want (tel # 3764648 or 51 look for Ferman or Sid). Surf this links to decide on what you want for the engine http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46996 & http://www.alcohol-injection.com/. My system cost me around 45th.

Doc Boz I decided to get a 3way Morel setup for my front stage. But I have this pillar mounted gauges on the left, which leaves me no other alternative to my mind but to put my mid range on the door panels. Does anybody in the forum have any other suggestions where I could position the mid range. As for the subwoofer its going to be a slim type with class D amplifier (waiting to audition the JL & Soundstream).

Apollo, you could try Winterpine +6327184531/7164833 or +63917180638 ask for Angela. Saw the vertical chrome garnish in their display at Union Motors in Paco (it costs around 8th)

Sorry for the late reply sir. To answer your question I did not have the vertical chrome garnish on my ride for personal reasons. For the other accessories you mentioned try asking Angela. If they don't have it, email Alfie of DZ Racing (alfie_tomlin*yahoo.com) with the pics of these parts. I am sure he could order the other accessories from Thailand from his supplier as I saw these from his suppliers website.

This is my engine bay after the installation of alcohol injection. The pump & tank reservoir are concealed in the cargo bed area. As for fuel consumption we will still have to evaluate, as Speedlab is still tinkering with the best chip program that suits my driving style.
