about to have my 10k PMS and i was thinking of using oil from shell... hx7 diesel or hx7 or hx5...

i am currently using turbo xp... ok lang bang bumalik ng mineral tapos 5k interval?

    thanks...

Sa case ko pards naka Fully Sythethic ako but Petron gave me a Trekker 15w40. I will use it when my truck reached 15K. It is w/in the specs of our Mits Manual kaya I am not worried. If my FC will be similar to 13.80 to 14KM/liter, I will stick to my trusted Trekker; mura kasi ito and available lagi. Trekker 15W 40, multi-grade is a pure mineral oil according to my Friend (Technical Services) who is working for Petron - this is equivalent to an equivalent to a semi-synthethic. I will change my oil every 5k if I were to use the Trekker for a long period of time..

Change interval depends on how you use your car and the condition of the place where you drive. Better search the Oil bypass filtration thread na lang to give you better understanding.

back to casa ulit ang strada ko for warranty check re:multiple lagutok sound sa pang ilalim, like i've said planning to change wheels and tires, kaya rushing to fix the lagutok sound. baka gawin pang dahilan for warranty claims.

recommended ko Alabang, very accomodating and really trying to fix the problem.

    Guys/Gals,

We have been talking about changing oil on a per kilometer basis depending on the type of oil (mineral, semi-synthetic or fully synthetic).

    Mineral/Semi-synthetic - every 5,000k change
Fully synthetic - every 10,000k change

If you don't travel that much (City Driving only and not that often long travel), what is the best time to change in terms of months?

Mineral/Semi-synthetic - not more than ?? months even less than 5000 kms
Fully synthetic - not more than ?? months even less than 10,000 kms

    Need your expert advise.

just went to citimotors las pinas and asked if pwede mag dala ng sariling oil for my 15k pms.. sabi nila pwede pero may 10% surcharge daw sa oil na supposedly galing sa kanila then sabi niya na since strada e synthetic oil daw ang ginagamit dito, so 10% ng 8L ng turboXP daw babayad ko which is 448php haaaay buhay.... so mangyayare is 448+oil ko na mabibili sa labas sobrang mapapamahal na ko

Is it legal to ask for "surcharge or corkage" for bringing your own oil? Can we complain to DTI?

parekoy, medyo issue yung monthly basis of change oil... kasi hindi mo pwede ijustify masyado yung time frame as compared to actuall driven distances. yung monthly basis kasi panay assumptions lang and what if figures, it is still best to use your traveled distance as a gauge for maintenance, regardless if you travel long distances or short... mas madalas lang ang change oil pag lagi ka naka gala and longer interval pag short distances diba, pero there is no issue if you still have the same oil in your engine after a year kung hindi mo pa inaabot yung reccomended distance traveled

Maintenance Costs are starting to get expensive.
Anyway, would like to share the following:
On my 35K, I sent my truck for A/C cleaning, however, i noticed that the A/C coolnes was not up to what I think it should be...especially during the past few months (summer). I got it check today and was suprised that they told me that their computer registered errors. I again asked them, 'your computer'? Nakakabit din ba A/C sa computer system. Well sabi nila..yung mga 4M41 daw or GLS Sport with climate control...yun daw meron. Long story short, just by resetting the computer, my truck is now cool like before.
Something I learned today. Maybe something to consider in the future if you experience A/C problems.

Ano din po yung difference nila when it comes to performance of our truck. Lastly, yung HX7 5w-40 po ba is for diesel or gasoline engine use. Thank you.

Based sa net..ok daw for both Petrol and Diesel ang Shell HX7.
With regards sa performance. I doubt if anybody can really measure or quantify the effect which can be attributable to the engine oil.

There are so many variables which come into play when we use our trucks. Nandyan yung ambient temperature, Passengers or Load, Wind Drag & Direction, Quality of Fuel, etc.

These oils may not be the best, but definitely they are more than good enough.
