yung issues regarding oils is a discussion and argument as old as oil itself, everyone has there own opinion regarding the subject and most are misled/misdirected, with some people even objecting to the statements of the body regulating oil and lubricants which in this case is the API and also the ISO...

just always remember that each vehicle manufacturer has their own spec requirements for their engines, just follow the requirements. most often than not, some manufacturer specs greatly exceed the others.. case in point is that japanese oem specs are way below par to european and american vehicle specs when it comes to lubricants, that is why you would usually see on lubricant labels these things : meets/exceeds.conforms to .............bmw/porche/MB/cat/mack/volvo/GM etc.... followed by a certain number....

i usually live with the mack and MB conformity when it comes to oils... just a personal preference though
