Brought my Strada at Motorplaza service station for the 10K PMS this morning. I opted to use XP fully synthetic oil this time. Got some discounts on the labor and parts. Satisfied with the service so far .

I find the charges for the Turbo XP engine oil & oil filter exorbitant. I get my Motul CRDI engine oil for only 1,750 (Autoline-Makati) for a gallon while for the oil filter 850 (Atco-Pasay), and this is for the GLS Sport model.

850.00 for the 4M41 oil filter is really cheap. Is that a genuine Mitsu filter?

The service advisor informed me yesterday that there is an increase in the price of the Turbo XP engine oil from 500 to 560/liter beginning September 1. I was also told that the change oil interval (every 5000 km.) is the same for ordinary and synthetic oils. I've read some posts stating that synthetic oil is at 10,000 Km. and only requires top-ups on their next visit.

sir the pms is the same interval...but if you use synthetic oil, you only need to change the oil filter and top it off on 5k KM and when you reach 10K KM, then replace oil and oil filter..tactic lang yan to earn more for the dealer... i posted the email from MMPC regarding reg oil vs. synthetic oils. but again..preference pa rin ng owner anong gagawin.. proven naman yan even for gasoline fed engine..if you use synthetic oil..pwede yung oil for 10K KM.

Atco-Pasay is one of the authorized Mitsubishi parts dealer. I have been getting my parts from them for all Mitsubishi vehicles that I own at present & in the past. The oil filter part no. is 1230A045, this you could check with any authorized Mitsubishi parts dealer.

I actually told the service advisor about the 10K change-oil interval of some Strada owners using synthetic oils but according to him this arrangement is not being done at their service center so using either ordinary oil or full synthetic oil will still have to follow the 5000 km change oil interval. One of these days I will try dropping by sa Urdaneta Motorplaza service center to inquire about this matter. Iisa lang kasi ang Mitsubishi service center dito sa Baguio so no choice but to accept whatever is being imposed.

Thank you for the info, sir Bobcas. Noted the oil filter part number. Will check with the service center if they can still do the required PMS if I provide the oil filter. 1,260 is a huge difference sa price ng oil filter ng casa.

What you can also do, Sir GO1, is bring in your own preferrred oil since I am sure that It would be cheaper to buy it outside of the casa. Just have the casa use your brand, this has already been suggested before in the threads.

If I may add, sir bobcas, bringing in of our own oil are also being done by a number of strada owners and club members, that includes me, and are permitted by the casas here in Metro Manila.

So, sir G01, I cannot see any reason why your casa in Baguio will not allow you to do so except that they are protecting their profits.

Isn't this casa in Baguio among those who unnecessarily changes the gear box and differential oils at 1,000 km PMS? Hmmmm.... aside from protecting their profits, also padding their profit? Tsk, tsk, tsk.

My SA at SFM San Pablo told me before na MMPC advisory daw na yung 4m41 engine requires fully synthetic while yung 2.5l puede regular or synthetic. Malabo ata. Tapos every 10k palit ng oil, every 5k palit ng filter. Ang gulo talaga pag iba iba ang dealers...

Sir Ooba99, yes it is the same casa who changed the gear and differential oils during my 1K PMS and they're the only service station in Baguio. The good thing with this casa though is that the service advisor arranges some technicians to quickly work on the servicing of my Strada as soon as I get there even if there are other vehicles being worked on so I don't wait a long time for the servicing to be completed unlike the Kia service station where I bring my other vehicle wherein servicing takes more than half a day to complete.

I will soon find out if they'll refuse changing my oils if I bring my own. If they'll do then I will just have my PMS done in Manila during one of my trips there.

You have nothing to complain, properly advised ka, eh, hahaha.

I got my Motul CRDi Fully Synthetic for P1,750 per 4 liters from a co-Strada Club member about 6 months ago when I had my 5000 km PMS. I bought 3 4-liters because the 3.2 uses about 9 liters. You may want to PM boybit if you are interested. Don't know how much it is now.

For my 10,000 km PMS, I used only about a liter from the excess from last time to top off. Every 10,000 km kasi ang change oil pag fully synthetic but have to change the fuel filter every 5,000 km.

I still have about 2 liters extra. So, for my 15k PMS, I'll just have to buy 2 4-liter Motul. Di naman siguro nasisira ito

I hope I answered your question.
