2011/12 Ssangyong Korando

Hey! For those na may hilig sa latest na Hyundai Tucson or waiting for the Kia Sportage to arrive, may pangtapat ng Ssangyong sa mga dalawa.







This is the 2011/2012 Ssangyong Korando. No longer the jeep-like Korando. It's now a crossover that suited up against the Tucson and the Sportage.

I'm not sure what specs for this but I think it's equipped with a CRDi diesel engine or petrol engine.

I need someone knowledgeable enough to describe this crossover from South Korea.

Not actually what I expected....

they should have just sticked with the name actyon and redeveloped it with such design...


I'd rather see the korando with solid axles and a common rail engine...

I think its powered with some kind of a CRDi engine Ssangyong calls it XDi, common from the rare-to-find Rexton.

Mas pogi sya dito... did some research and it was the Ssangyong C200 concept. It will be called also the New Actyon is some countries....

The new Korando looks good..Malamang ibenta yan dito ng Ssangyong Philippines next year.

The new korando was designed by Italdesign Giorgetto Giugiaro and based in an all new monocoque platform unlike the other existing models. The engine will be a eXDi200 2.0-liter diesel engine developing 175 hp using a two-stage turbocharger with an advanced high-efficiency exhaust gas recycling (EGR) intercooler producing a solid 130kW and 450Nm of torque, a 1.8 litre 115 hp gasoline will follow suit later. Transmission choice are 6 speed manual or six speed automatic. It will be called the New Actyon (as someone mentioned) only in Russia as this car is also being made under Russian car makers Sollers.

BTW the new owner of Ssangyong Motors is Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, completion of takeover will be done later this year.

The sad side is that I heard from someone that ssangyong dealership will close dito sa pilipinas. meron po ba dito sa tsikot na makapag confirm nito?

Di pa magsasara ang Ssangyong dealership dito sa Pinas..Ang owner ng Ssangyong dealerships dito ay same owners ng Citimotors,Wheels,Union Motors and Hyundai Dasma Cavite!

Next year pa ang labas ng new Korando dito..For now concentrate muna sila sa sales ng Actyon at Rodius na mabenta talaga.

Actually I found out a bit more about the new engines from Ssangyong, these new engine are NOT mercedes benz. They are ssangyong's self made engine developed in collaboration with the Austrian company called AVL (Anstalt für Verbrennungskraftmaschinen List).
