    Field Master,

The mechanic I was referring to is the mechanic of Apic Auto Supply in Banawe. His name is Jorge and I can say he is really good. They specializes in Korean vans but mostly MB100Ds. He used to work at commercial motors.

Here is a photo of the revised air intake (PN: A 661 831 30 39):

Along with that, CMC also included this a/c hose line (the one with the blue OEM label). I really have no idea what it's for but it was part of the recall:

Anyways, even in the earlier configuration, the MB100 intake is still higher than most forward-control van's air intakes which are placed under the seat or under the driver's foot (as in the Kia Bestas).

The revised air intake is really a must for all Ssangyong models. For other CMCs that never had the chance to change their intakes during the recall, you should change it to avoid bigger problems in the future (just like what I had).

I changed my intake by buying a set from Apic and noticed that after driving in the rain and checked my air filter box, there was no signs of water. This is not the same before when I was still using the original intake.

A small price to pay to protect my newly overhauled engine. BTW, everything now is great. I can feel the power of the engine although I'm still breaking-in my engine.

Sir Otep, huwag ng MB100, go for other vans(starex or ibang jap vans na lang). Sobrang mahal ang maintenance and parts. My ate is a teacher at ica greenhills. Obviously, these people can afford the very expensive maintenance cost and parts kaya iyang MB100 ay makikita mo lang lagi sa makati at greenhills (area ng mga wealthy chinese families). Stick with the starex na lang or the Hi-Ace...iyan ang van namin kasi and proven na mas mura ang maintenance.

MB100 is just a rebadged Korean van although it is reliable.

we have a supplier of MB100 parts, and i guarantee you MURA ang piyesa nito. in fact, sa price list magkatabi pa nga parts nyan sa pride, besta and daewoo racer hehe

We already have an MB100 (CMC '97 model) and we are VERY VERY VERY satisfied with it. Btw, I'm not mayaman and I'm not Chinese. hehehe.

That is why we are looking into acquiring another unit.

Maintenance is not that expensive if you know guys like Mang Mario, Mang Rudy (MCR), ZEE, etc. Mahal talaga if sa CMC maintenance mo. Pero maganda customer support ng CMC. Lahat ng recalls informed kami and on the spot ginagawa (no waiting).

Best part is, engine is nearly identical to the engine in my W123 MB300D so familiar na din ako sa powerplant.

Btw, my uncle did not get a Starex. He acquired a stolen-recovered Pajero Field Master 4x4.

    Dear MB 100 bros,

I like to start a new thread about this diesel van. Say anything about it that is under the sun, post your pics of your van, what's the set-up - sounds, gadgets, accessories and the like. Even the pros and cons of this van is welcomed. Maintenance tips to keep it in tip top shape. And especially a help thread to fellow MB 100 user to keep abreast & informed.

So what are you waitng for bros & sis........FIRE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Bros & Sis,

I own a 97 model MB 100, two tone (White & gray). I have some sort of a Home theater LCD set-up with a DVD Karaoke player w/ echo & mike inside the van. Yup, you can sing inside the van while travelling. For the sounds set-up, I have a Pioneer head Unit (CD/mp3 player), 1 pc-12" Cerwin Vega Sub 300W w/ separate baffles, 2 pcs 8" Daichi Sub 150W each with separate baffles, 2 pcs 3-way 6x9 Targa 200w each, 2 pcs 2-way 5" Targa 100W, 4 pcs Piezoelectric tweeters 100w each. These speakers are powered by two amps, 1 amp inteded for all the subs with built in electronic crossover. The 12 inch sub gets only the low frequency, while the two 8" subs gets all the frequencies. The other amp powers the rest of the speakers with a separate electronic crossover to modulate & filter intended frequencies for each speaker kind. It has a modest output with satisfaction especially when using the DVD karaoke.

Just to share with you my set-up. Pics to follow

Hello, welcome to the boards. There are other MB100 threads here. Use search and the keyword 'mb100' (no space) and you'll get about 10 threads.

Have a '97 since new. No problems with it. Pioneer HU, basic AV set up. Had all the recall items fixed by CATS (door handles, air intake, A/C plumbing).

Basically stock and running on Goodyear Wrangler tires.

Satisfied pa din kami. Drove it December 27 to Pampanga, medyo overloaded pa dahil 13 kaming sakay and with luggage pero comfy pa din sa loob.

Best buy would be the unit in the best condition, I guess. Since they are all used cars. I prefer local units even if the imports have more features.

mga ka MB, kamusta ang fuel gauge ninyo? yung sa akin medyo me problema, erratic, pag nag load ako ng 500 malapit na sa kalahati tapos after 50klmtrs dun na sumasagad ang baba tapos papanik ulit sa 1/4 tapos baba ulit, hindi naman umiilaw yung fuel light pag yung needle nasa red line. problema d ko tuloy alam kung gumagana pa yung fuel light, ayoko naman subukan tuyuin baka dumumi ang nozzle. what do you think, any suggestion??

sir baka sira o madumi ung floater sa fuel tank, o kaya may nagalw na wire from floater to gauge.
