Our '97 is 110k++, I think (wala siya dito ngayon).
Kahit coding, it's still in use. No rust yet. Didn't get casa rustproofing also. But it does have undercoat and is washed everyday. May mga body panels lang na hindi masyado match ang color due to not-so-good touch ups and repairs. Otherwise, all is well.
Madami siyang parts. You can get parts from the Mercedes Benz parts dealers or from the Korean parts dealers. Hindi ka talaga mauubusan. hehehe.

January 9th, 2007 02:31 PM #183we have 97' model CMC...fuel mileage around 11km/li highwway driving (Cagayan Valley) without A/C, and 9km/li with A/C..and yes, with proper care and maintenance, this van will surely satisfy you in as far utility/ownersip/service is concerned..our initial headache back then was sourcing of the spare parts..but once you get to know where to get one, its surely a breeze owning this van..Some complain about the weird design, things like you have to remove the dashboard or pull down the entire rear ceiling in order to reach the evaporator..c'mmon,you're not the one going to do that right?..leave it to your mechanic,..he may, though, charge a tad higher than what he would have for L300 or Besta's or Grace..but that's just it. it equates greater comfort than the latter would have to offer...
as OTEP said, the engine is proven already, as this design have been around since the 70's..

Yup. There are Korean surplus Ssangyong Istanas from the same dealers. No brand new units, though.
Personally I'd prefer acquiring from the actual previous owner than from a Korean surplus yard.

I agree with doc Otep, if you want to buy an MB go to the previous owner than to a surplus yard and read the thread here it will help a lot. be a wise buyer, choose the best dont rush or else you will get a stone instead of gold. one more classified adds from the internet will help also do not buy from a buy and sell agent as much as possible.
nowadays ive been seeing lots of MB on the road, it seems like it was just released yesterday, well good for us MB owners the parts are very well available.
