How does that G400 play? I have never tried it. My sister-in-law who plays for Alabama State uses a G400 driver also. I am using a 2016 M1 now.

compared to my previous drivers (d2, r9, r11, jpx 800, mp800), i think it is a lot better. it is forgiving even in off-center hits. the sound is much better. my swing speed is around 115 mph so even if it launches high, i still can carry a little distance.

Oh boy, you have some really good swing speed for an amateur! No wonder you got that single-digit handicap. Best I could do is 95 mph.

I tried the G400 yesterday at the range but I don’t like how it feels on impact. It is quite forgiving though. Maybe it is the shaft on it. My sister-in-law likes it over her old G30 and 915D2.

haven't tried the g30. this is my first PING (i'm a fan of in gee chun). the xx10 irons are only for show. i love my AP2.

my swing speed used to be 100 - 110 mph, but deadlift and squat greatly helps. i hit the gym 3-4x a week for golf specific work out. I'm really into it now. (i have this dream of playing in the seniors tour. the latter starts at 56 years old).

i once ripped a drivable par4 (310 yds on white tee) and reached it in one.

    is your sis-in-law a Filipino?

I don’t even have enough for golf out here. What more for time at the gym? I used to play a lot of golf when I was living in Illinois before. That is where my love for Bettinardi and Tour Edge Exotics started.

Yep, my sister-in-law is a Filipino citizen and she was recruited by Alabama State to play NCAA golf for them back in 2014. She is a senior now and she is thinking of taking on LPGA Q-school next year. She may not be that long off her sticks but she is damn good with accuracy. She had a local handicap of 5 when she joined Alabama State.

^i hope she'll make it to the Q-school and eventually to the LPGA. most korean lady golfers are really not that long off the tee, but they are pretty accurate. their short game is impeccable. their work ethic is very impressive. that's why they lorded over the LPGA.
unlike in the US, Europe, Korea, and Japan, we can play, we can practice all year round, we could produce world-class golfers IF one only had the werewithal.

That’s her goal but bottom line is she’s not going back here to work. Some schools are even offering now to have her on their golf coaching/training staff after she graduates. I am amazed by her work ethic. Even on vacation, when not on the course, she hits the gym and then the range.

i checked on your sis at alabama state (please don't take it against me), her records are quiet impressive. and she's good looking too. she's as tall as lydia ko, i think.

by the way, the daughter of my daughter's coach is going in that route too, and she's still 16. stanford is calling her. the problem is, the father is thinking twice from sending her daughter to some far away land on her own.

My wife’s family is proud of their youngest sibling. I got into golf because my father-in-law is an avid golfer. When she’s on vacation, I usually ask her to squeeze in a club in her bag for me. Tour Edge Exotics fairway woods are not sold here locally.

Kids can manage if they are sent to a far away school. Just imagine what my in-laws would have been thinking when they first send off their 17-year-old youngest daughter to study in Alabama.

yes, i agree, but i think your sis, even before she went to the states, had already ingrained in her system, for lack of better term, the western culture or ideas coming as she is from an international school. my friend's daughter here is another story. literally, US is a strange, far away promise land to him and to his daughter. he is just coaching golf and tending a little pro shop.

Schedule tayo range time or even time on the fairway with fellow Tsikoteer golfers one of these days. Isama na rin yung interested matuto para mas masaya. Malamig ang beer sa mga driving range, not to mention na masarap food doon sa clubhouse ng Navy Golf.

    very good idea!

i played very early today with two local retired touring pros. they're already in their early 60s, but, damn, I've out-driven them only once. one scored even par; the other 2 over.

Sounds like a plan. I'm better after work hours over weekends.

My ancient clubs are in the car always.

i had several opportunities for birdies but i lipped out thrice.

What a game, JM! With a bit of more luck, you can easily score par. Where is home course, by the way?

With my work schedule out here, I gave up longing to break 80. I am happy to play bogey golf whenever I'm out on the course.

If I had lived longer in Illinois, it was a serious consideration. I played the best golf of my life out there.
