As a health professional, hindi ako masyado sumusunod sa mga less carbs kasi nanghihina ko eh. What I do is I do atleast 30minutes of walking and jogging. Considered as healthy na kasi yun eh kapag atleast 30mins nagwalk ka and jog or run. Basta aerobic exercises. Basta. i eat what I want tapos I burn them ;)

White rice linked to diabetes | Inquirer News
MEDICAL researchers announced last Thursday, March 15, 2012, that they discovered a “troubling link between higher consumption of white rice and Type 2 diabetes mellitus,” which is of epidemic proportion in Asia and other regions where white rice is the staple food.
The studies are also probing into the association of diets high in sugar and fats to this most common diabetes. Worldwide, about 350 million people have Type 2 diabetes, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
“What we’ve found is white rice is likely to increase the risk of Type 2 diabetes, especially at high consumption levels such as in Asian populations,” according to Qi Sun of the Harvard School of Public Health, who added that “the link emerged from an analysis of four previously published studies, carried out in China, Japan, Australia and the United States.”
The clinical investigations involved 350,000 people followed closely from four to 22 years, where 13,000 of them developed Type 2 diabetes.
Those studies conducted in Japan and China revealed that who ate most rice (three to four servings a day) were had 55 percent higher risk to develop diabetes compared to those who ate least (one to two servings a week). The part of this research performed in Australia and in the United States, where people eat less rice, the difference was 12 percent.
White rice is prepared by machines that give its polished appearance, by hulling and milling, removing the husk and leaving a grain that is primarily starch. Brown rice, on the other hand, which does not undergo the same “treatment,” has more fiber, vitamins, magnesium, and above all, has a lower glycemic index, a measurement of sugar content. White rice has higher glycemic index and is transformed faster to glucose, which quickly elevates the blood sugar level in the blood stream.
This meta-analysis of four original studies needs larger studies and more clinical trials for confirmation but according to Dr. Sun there is a convincing “consistency across these studies, and there is biological plausibility that supports the association between white rice consumption and diabetes.”

I'm a 17 yrs old student lang po![]()
avoid pork sir... i remember one time may nag seminar po samin sa office ang sabi pork contains a different kind of worm na even cooking hindi daw namamatay, and that worm is the main cause ng pag laki ng tyan natin....
pero sir in my own opinion naman... the cause of your big tummy is.... it lacks muscle to hold it... sagging actually ang nangyayari talaga dyan.... do crunches leg raises, then all the time mag stomach-in kayo to eliminate excess water around your tummy... body builders before going to stage they always flex and flex their muscle to eliminate the remaining water in their
skin. im not sure pero i think its like a biometric type of exercise...
May nakita na ako nagpost na cut carbs. Yes true. What I did is to replace one meal with veggies and fruits. Example 1 apple and 1 orange plus yung cucumber tomato green leafy veggies for lunch. After that feeling mo busog ka na kasi matagal kainin yon. Your brain already signaled that you are full. You can still eat carbs pero syempre you must do an hour of work out everyday. Ako I do workout monday to friday. This is what I did to loose some weight and I lost 2" sa waist in 3 moths from 32" to 30"![]()
madali lang magpapayat, i eat 6x a day, i dont care what i eat, but i just hover around 137-139lbs. all you need to do is change your goal. goal mo kasi aesthetic lang, you need a functional goal to motivate you. madami sa office goal is pumayat pang summer, pag tinamad di na magwoworkout.
get a different goal like finishing a full marathon or running a sub45min 10k. pag yan goal mo hindi ka tatamarin kasi may tangible target ka. you train to get strong not just to look good, susunod nalang katawan mo. and the best thing is, you dont have to check what you eat.
develop muscles because you need it, not because it makes you look good
same here... trying to avoid white rice if possible, pag dito sa bahay brown rice ako. kaso lang pag sa labas eh ang hirap maghanap ng meron nagse-serve ng brown rice. trying also to have whole wheat bread instead of white bread if possible.
humans are evolved to handle food scarcity
it's only very recent in human history (few thousand years ago) that we have abundance of food (when man invented agriculture)
for hundreds of thousands of years ancient humans were nomadic hunter-gatherers. they didnt have abundant food like us. they didnt eat regular meals. our ancestors evolved efficient fat storage to adapt to food scarcity
we inherited those genes but now food scarcity is rare. we're always eating but our bodies weren't adapted to abundant availability of food. there's a mismatch between our bodies and the modern diet
the modern diet (and sedentary lifestyle) gave rise to "diseases of civilization" (obesity, hypertension, type 2 diabetes)
--
ancient humans didnt eat white rice and white bread. we werent evolved to process fast carbs on a regular basis
fast carbs are quickly digested and enter the bloodstream fast resulting in high blood glucose. our bodies then have to produce lots of insulin to drive down the high blood glucose
regular consumption of fast carbs -- our cells are constantly exposed to high level of insulin. years and decades of exposure to high level of insulin our cells become resistant. insulin resistance leads to......
