but as long as perasol is at the helm of their basketball team, that nowheretogobutup slogan will always be just a slogan.

even w/ the entry of the much hyped kobe paras (na kinakain lang sa gilas cadets program), the future of the upmbt to get that hardware will always be in doubt.
you can say whatever you want to say about perasol (actually sa kahit sinong nakaupo jan). I wont blame the coach kasi UP will always be at a disadvantage with personnel, finance, facilities etc. Swerte na lang talaga recently at pumapayag na sa ganyang klaseng player recruitment ang admin at may mga student athlete naman na willing sumali.

as long as sir dan palami can reign in all the competing personalities and rival fraternities w/in the upmbt stakeholders group, then the money will always flow in. and with money, as everyone knows, come the blue chip recruits like the gdl brothers (even the younger brothers were offered scholarships at the high school level), ricci rivero, bright akhuetie (who must have cost a pretty penny to get his clearance from perps) & kobe paras - among others.

perasol is a brod of palami so it's safe to say he's hold on the coaching position is pretty secure. besides, by all accounts, coach bo is pretty much a stand-up guy. he's respected and loved by his wards and his staff. he's just not the best court tactician out there.

and most up student - athletes have their own courses w/c are catered to them. that way their academics won't come in the way of representing their school w/ their darnest best. of late and off the top of my head, i think si jet manuel lang talaga ang kumuha ng course na "mainstream " college offering sa upmbt.

I thought it was NU - UST - FEU.

I wasn't particularly impressed with Adamson's performance. And UST definitely deserves more than 4th.

Ateneo, which has been 8th for 5 straight years now, deserved more than their 7th place finish. I found their performance to be better than UE's and UP's.

Speaking of UP, it's quite disappointing how lackluster they've become. When I was in college they won the CDC crown 3 straight times and 5 in 6 years.

DLSU's performance was just downright awful. Worst I've seen from them ever.

Ever since the controversial loss of UP to NU, they missed a year in protest and then became lackluster or should we say lackadaisical in their efforts ever since.

Mukhang bad trip pa rin eh. Hehe

The best way to get back is to prove you're better. Kaso wala eh, di na talaga impressive UP ngayon.

May effect pa din kaya sa judges yung pagprotest nila? It did leave a bitter tast afterall. Yung whole competition kasi parang na-question.

Anyway sana FEU manalo sa game ngayon.

Yup. Hindi na kasing pulido as before. I can understand NU dominating this because they have the resources na since Sy got the majority stake. But being overtaken by other schools means wala talaga improvement.

BTW, NU's very big sports academy in Calamba is near completion. When I say big, parang MegaMall lang naman.

the mvp for this season is bright akhuetie

madami pala nagalit kay coach franz na kapwa niya lasalista kahapon. hindi daw kasi sineryoso iyong non-bearing game nila vs feu kaya tuloy may play-off pa ang dlsu vs feu

Yeah.. I thought na UST will take 2nd.. but nakalusot pa ang FEU and Adamson which has a 0.5 lead over UST adter the final tally. And Ateneo had a good performance, which should had a higher placing than they deserve yesterday.

Napansin nyo din yung cash prize nila this year compared to last year?

Don’t know anything about cheerdance, but I can tell that DLSU sucked big time.

As for ADMU, there’s something terribly wrong when the lady coach (?) proudly said they had a perfect routine when interviewed after they’re performance only to finish second to the last.
So in her eyes they’re already great but from the judges they’re just a rank higher than the worst team. Maybe a change of coach with a different perception is in order.

On the basketball front, it looks like FEU might be on it's way to a KO match with La Salle, unless Adamson makes a gigantic rally minus Manganti and Ahanmisi.
