Pero lakas ng USTE. It's just that ADMU gets their game going once the 2nd half starts, and from there, they hardly miss any shots. Yung USTE naman umalat nung third. Nung fourth na sila naka-bawi, but it wasn't enough. ADMU was still on fire.

The game was great. Wasn't boring at all.

Dapat mas magalit siya sa players niya for missing so many free throws. UST had more free throws than ADMU and missed quite a lot of them per the stat sheets. Sad though since that Pido fit kinda takes away part of that game one win from ADMU. I watched the replay and if it was not stopped via that Kiefer flop and Abdul foul.. (although it seems Kiefer was fouled with no calls at least once by another player in that same sequence), it looks like he would have gone all the way to the basket already since UST had no defense set up. Ravena broke free from a three man press that time.

Kawawa Ateneo kung gawin best of 5 yung finals. Sabay din kasi sa semestral finals usually yung UAAP MBT finals... di sila makakapag aral. :D

Yung last lay-up ni Tiongson, dapt 3 point play din afaik. Tinamaan siya sa ulo kaya pero let go ng mga ref. Hindi na rin naman pinansin diba? I think the ref called a good game. Kahit pa yung last play bigyan ng 3 Ft's wala na din. Halos .2 sec na lang natira sa shot clock eh. Hindi na kaya ng 2 FT's made, miss the last, get the rebound and shot the 3 to extend the game. Pido, just let it go. May gm 2 and maybe gm 3 pa naman to win fair and square.

Ateneo's Black calls Jarencio's tirade 'racist'

MANILA, Philippines - It was an intense game that saw University of Santo Tomas (UST) head coach Pido Jarencio fuming after his team's loss, and spewing angry words -- including a statement Ateneo de Manila University head coach Norman Black felt was racist towards him.

Jarencio on Saturday, October 6, voiced his complaints openly at referees who he felt were unfair in their game-officiating, and compared himself to Black, implying that referees favored the latter for being American.

"Kailangan ba mag-e-English ako para paburan ako? Ganoon ba laban dito? Hindi totoo. Nasa Pilipinas tayo, dapat tayong mga Pilipino mahalin niyang mga iyan," he told reporters in a press conference after the game.

(Do I need to speak English to be favored? Is that how it goes here? We're in the Philippines, we Filipinos should be loved by [the referees]).

In response, Black told Spin.ph that he found the statement mean and racist, saying that he felt Jarencio had "crossed the line" and made the rivalry personal.

The UAAP board is still studying whether it will suspend Jarencio for Game 2 set for Thursday, October 11, for his verbal tirade. - Rappler.com

ewan ko ba kay coach pido. it makes me scratch my head the way he's trying to manipulate public sympathy for his team by pandering to the "kawawa naman" mentality some pinoys have plus he's also making an attempt to stir the patriotism of our countrymen by pointing out the roots of coach norman. parang soap opera ang gusto mangyari
