It's an undersea cave of about 150 ft drop. Never tried it before and kaya Mapating, meron nga daw nakikita na sharks and other pelagics. Sa may Maricaban island yan off Anilao Batangas

my fondest memory of mapating is going into a small cave at about 170ft or so. when i turned on my flashlight, there was a lionfish above my friend's head that was the size of a basketball. beautiful and scary at the same time. i can't remember if we saw any sharks.

my shark memories are mostly of apo island and tubataha

Andy it will be my first time in Mapating. Any pointers? Did you use Nitrox or mix of gases? We just plan to do a bounce dive using air.

dove at mapating during my nitrox check out dive

nice dive spot but descending can be eerie

you are literally diving in the middle of the sea and at about 90ft, you just see this plateau in the middle of the sea

    safe diving

used normal air lang, pero deco dive but we didn't stay that long din sa baba.

isang tip lang naman ang sinasabi ko kahit kanino at kahit saan ka mag-dive. NEVER PANIC, no matter what happens.

    Bulagaan tayo hehe.

Canyons in Sabang Puerto Galera also for deep blue. Galing ng feeling. Lalo na kung madami kayo. One time, we had to do a deep blue dive at Fish Bowl also near Canyons. Current was kinda strong so we had to race going down else we will miss the site. I call these kind of dives tattattaran dive. Kasi when going down, I always imagine a background music of action films.

Glad your dive went well. Last time I did Mapating was years ago. Did it with Nitrox.

I will look out for a honking black Xtrial with HID. Hahaha!

sheesh didnt visit tsikot for a while, missed the dive.

But I just got back a week ago from a week long dive charter in Eastern Visayas, had 15dives mostly drift dives in 8 islands, the best site ive seen so far is Apo Reef.

Camia at Boracay is also good, went down to 100ft, there's a wall, will try Yapak soon

had a nice dive in our resort in sarangani province, we had to remove a large net from the wall kasi some illegal fisherman snagged their net there (buti nga sa kanila).

top of the net was at 90 feet. i went down to the borrom of the net, around 140 ft. while i was there, sa about 15 big red snappers, about 2 fet long. then saw about 5 talakitok of the same size, pretending to be snappers, swimming in and out of the wall.

we took the net off but it was so huge that it dragged us to 155 feet.

2 stage deco na ako nun, 20 feet then 10 feet.

we went up to 30 feet to hang aroud before decompressing, sa a 4 foot napoleon wrasse. cool sya masyado, tingin lang ng tingin sa amin.
