I bought Melatonin from Healthy Options. I waited for me to sleep. It didn't happen. I just wasted a bottle of placebo. Lol!

I don't have any sleeping disorder. I can sleep well like a baby if I want to 8hrs straight. But, if my mind is thinking a lot of things or getting glued on researching something, I forget time and what do you know, it's 2am in the morning.

I bought Melatonin 3 mg today. It was only P400 for 300 tablets I took one at 12:30, it's 1:40 and I am still not sleepy.

Also, I read the caution at the back, it made me nervous to take it. So many warnings Also, it says I cannot take it over 4 weeks?

Hahaha nice one doc!! Pwede ka umitim ng konti with melatonin. Take note: pwede and konti [emoji51]

Actually melatonin is a natural medicine from plants thats why it’s very safe to use as a sleeping aid. That’s why over-the-counter med lang sya. They come in different doses too and alam ko they come in 3, 5, and 10 mg doses. I know since my brother is an integrative medicine specialist and the one who introduced me to melatonin.
But then again, better kung hindi tayo drug dependent. Use as needed basis na lang like youve attempted to sleep for 30mins na or you need to sleep early, or may jetlag.

Side note: theyre trying out melatonin as an anti-cancer drug in the US. Anti-oxidant din kasi sya.

That's too bad. I don't want to risk darkened skin. Baka sa knees, elbows, underarms, at nape pa umitim. I'll do it for a week then I'll stop na

What is an integrative medicine specialist? MD also?

from the 3g, only 10-30% is absorbed. the others are broken down in the digestive system.

Invest also in a good mattress. You spend a third of your day sleeping. (Maybe half a day for Cathy hehe). Someone once said that there are 2 things you shouldn’t scrimp on, good shoes & a good mattress. You are either on your feet or on your back.

I use 5mg Melatonin tablets from Healthy Options whenever I am on night shift. Helps me get a complete sleep during the day and no side effects or grogginess whenever I wake up. I still sleep normally whenever I am on the day shift or it is my day off even on the night shift so no dependencies encountered.

melatonin is a hormone produced by our body when it gets dark

during caveman days it means it's time to sleep

    sleep repairs our body

    sleep boosts immune system

    --

unfortunately our caveman bodies haven't evolved to deal with 24 hour lighting

    kaya modern humans lack sleep

our natural sleep cycle (circadian rhythm) is disrupted

lack of sleep -- body can't repair, immune system weak

that's why lack of sleep causes cancer

that's why they're using melatonin to fight cancer

+1 to this. Invested on a Memory foam pillow and mattress from Uratex and never had any regrets. The only downside is whenever we are checked in to hotels, I keep missing my memory foam set.
