I can only imagine the amount of mental toughness at that level of play.

Olats uli si eala sa pre -wimbledon tournament. It was a tense finals game though that went the distance so ok na din. Charge it to experience na Lang ( for Alex) , I guess.

Nalintikan kagabi si eala sa Wimbledon debut niya. Akala ko mananalo na Nung nakuha niya 1st set kaso nabuhayan iyong kalaban niyang defending champ.

Madami -dami pang bigas kakainin Ng pambato natin.

Yes, a few more grains of rice. She was outclassed in the 2nd and 3rd sets.

Federer also lost on his debut in Wimbledon, same as many other greats. The fact that Alex held her own in the first set against no less than the defending champion (at Centre Court, too) is definitely a good sign of things to come.

The US Open is in Flushing Meadows, Queens (you'll pass it if you land in JFK and drive to Manhattan). There is a sizeable contingent of pinoys in Queens, probably the largest concentration of Filipinos in the East Coast. Alex doesn't have a home tournament but the US Open is probably the closest thing to it.

I'm very happy that Alex, the first pinoy to win a match at a Slam, won during National Heroes Day in the Philippines (she did say "Put4ng1na!" in the third set, though ).

Meanwhile, Janice Tjen (Indonesia) also won. Big day for SEA ladies in the US Open.

Ang Ganda Ng start ni Alex eala this year. She's steamrolling opponents into submission in the Auckland tournament. Sana manalo pa din bukas vs wang.

Umusbong sa top 40s na ata Ang ranking niya as of yesterday.

Ikaw may kasalanan doc...olats tuloy hehe

Naubusan ata Ng hangin si Alex. At least she's got rafa Nadal on speed dial (as touted by the new zealand press) to help her fortify her stamina.
