    Hi niwde11,

I'm in Manila. Medyo papalayo QC. But thanks for taking time to offer. Appreciate it dude.

    Kimpoy,

Sinunod ko payo mo and thanks a lot.

Last saturday, I picked up a 7iron and just went in cold to the nearest driving range to me - Club Intramuros. Looked for a Pro, asked around who is good Pro and they pointed me to someone there. Reasonable naman singil, mga P400 / hour. Sulit talaga, I learned a lot in the one hour session. From the grip, address (bago ito sa dictionaryo ko). Gave me a beginners briefing for about 10-15 minutes until the backswing (wala pang palo). After all the shadow swinging, foot positions, he made freeze on the backswing, pointed to the ball on the ground and he said 'paluin mo' -- whooop, Nakayod lupa! sumama naman bola pero malapit lang nilipad. The good thing about having a Pro teach is he gives you feedback and knows what to adjust. I would not have figured that out on my own. Well half a bucket later I started to get the feel of it, dumadalas na ang sigaw ng Pro 'yaaaan'. After two buckets, I was already hitting between the 125-150 yards on the 7iron although 50/50 ang direction, I still have the slice when I forget what the Pro taught me, more practice. It was fun!

Don Camote; no problem. I think talo ka kung per hour in the long run. Marami ka matutunan sa kung isang set na kuha mo. 4 years ago, it was P7,000 for the complete(almost, heheheh) set. 18 sessions to be exact i think(1 session ay isang laro usually with him kaso bayad ka green fee nyo). mas mura pa rin kasi kung minsan pag maganda palo mo tyak 2 hours na di ka pa pagod. kung wala kang kasunod na tuturuan e di aalis yung pro sayo. Merienda lang addl expenses.=) HTH. ano nga pala name instructor mo?
btw, maganda offer ni HG. kaso lang i think with his financial status, baka most expensive filipino instructor sya.lols(joke lang HG).

    donCamote,

sanayin mo na yin ang long irons like the 4-iron kasi kung irratic ang woods mo may dependable kang 4-iron off the tee.

PRO:oist kim may baon akong mansanas dito...
    Kim: huh?
PRO: slice ka kasi ng slice eh

    eto pa tip...
sanayin mo na rin wag mag gloves...
remember kapag wala kang paltos ibig sabihin correct ang grip mo.
saves you 500 pesos pa di ba.

Bro, marami ka talaga matutuhan dyan like chicken wing, advance, delay, etc. bili ka ng golf magazine and it will help a lot especially on your stance. Pag madalas kaliwa, much better than kumakanan(slice). tawag nga ng pro ko dun e right mistake(kumakaliwa). mas madali raw kasi correct yung kumakaliwa. for a first timer, very good kung nakakarating ang 7 iron mo sa 125 to 150. Next time on the range pag ganyan pa rin ang result sayo.

oo mas mahirap kapag nasanayan mo na ang mga bad habits like chicken wing, look up, behind or late, nauuna ang beywang, heel up, wrong weight shift,

    isang pang tip,
bili ka ng pocketbook ni Ben Hogan 5 Lessons "The Modern Fundamentals of Golf"
before ernie els, before jack nicklaus... Ben Hogan was the first "big easy" swinger

get your basics here: Grip, Stance, Posture and ofcourse the swing, sa national ko nabili ito.

Toto Arcillas. He said he's been playing golf since 12yo. He's mid 50s na.

I guess I'll try the long irons pa-unti-unti.

Swerte lang, malabo pa naman direksyon. I guess it's true what they say that the tennis background helped.
