    From the documentary Prescription Thugs

"A lot of people have this misconception that the pharmaceutical industry is altruistic, and they're philantropists and that theyre looking to heal the world. There couldn't be anything further from the truth. The pharmaceutical industry is Their vested interest is in making their stockholders money because the pharmaceutical industry isnt in the business of health and healing. Its in the business of disease management and symptoms maintenance.

"Every diesease can be oversold. One of the ones being oversold at the moment, even though its a real illness, is bipolar disorder. Its a rare condition. Its become, in the last 10 or 15 years, five thousand times more common that it was before. Ever since they were introduced first in the late 1950s, its been recognized back then that antidepressants dont suit all people. If youre on an antidepressant that doesnt suit you, it can make you suicidal, and it can also make you homicidal. This can happen to you, even if youre a heathy volunteer taking these pills. Its not something linked to the illness. Its a thing caused by the pill and the fact that the pill is the wrong pill for you.

When drugs worked for tuberculosis, tuberculosis vanished. When drugs supposedly worked for depression, or bipolar disorder these days, the illness doesnt vanish. Its gets incredibly more common. Where the right kind of treatment can help save a life, and save a career and save a marriage, all too often its a condition that doesnt need a treatment and where treatment can cause you to lose your life and lose your marriage and lose your career.

Thats a billion-dollar industry. Exactly, and theyre not going to give it up easily because there is no medical scientific evidence required to diagnose someone to take a psychiatric drug, so it is the most lucrative cooperative, collusive effort that there is between allopathic healers and psychiatry.

Weve been sold the idea that these things work, that if you put your kids on Ritali, theyll do better at school. If youre at work, and youre taking an antidepressant, youll do better at work. It seems rational to take them. Its not that we're irratonal, we're trying to be rational, and we've been sold a bag of goods.

People think that because its prescribed by a doctor, its safe, and its approved by the FDA, so its safe. I mean, these are illusory impressions that the public has, and its not true.

I think the Philippines isn't prone to prescription drug abuse. They are really strict with the issuance of regulated meds and buying it is getting harder and harder over the years.

Less than a decade ago, a doctor can prescribe regulated medicines for 3 months at a time (eg 100 tabs in one Rx) Now it has to be 1 Rx for a maximum of one month's worth of meds. They are also very strict with the date. You can't have Rxs with blank dates because the handwriting has to match. You can't get multiple Rxs and then buy it in less than a month (eg 30 tabs on week 1, 30 tabs on week 2). Doctors, at least those that I know, are very careful now when it comes to issuing s2 meds. Mercury Drug also doesn't stock up much on regulated meds, at least those that I purchase.

I have to say that in terms of regulated medicines, the government is doing a great job. There are even instances when they would do random home visits (they get a copy of the ID and home address of the patient).

I used to get a regular Rx just with the doctor indicating his s2 license. Now it's this form which is in triplicate.

Regulated meds are strictly monitored here unlike in the US. It's just not comparable.

Favorite drug ireseta clonazepam pag hirap makatulog.

350x3....... Madiskarte rin si doc.

I don't know where you get your drugs, but where I am from, it's not easy. I don't think run of the mill doctors will bother with an s2 license There aren't a lot of good psychiatrists in Manila and it is very difficult to get an appointment. So why would psychiatrists risk their practice issuing valium or stilnox or whatever for P350-400? Their PFs are much more higher than that.

350 tabs? The maximum number of tabs they can prescribe is good for one month. The most they can do is fill out separate prescriptions with different dates.

Pati dentist at veterinarians pwede magka S2.

Teach your brain or it will train you! (The power of sound healing).

Ayoko yung fast-acting like rivotril. Unproductive sleep, mababaw REM.

Parang mas ok L-theanine yung extract galing sa tea. Nakakaincrease ng GABA.

Yung sound wala pa ako idea. Pag-aralan ko pa.
