hello actuali iba ang first responder at yung sa red cross kc parang considered as volunteer lng yun na may knowledge about basic life support..parang hindi in-depth ang training kc hindi yan licensed unlike kng mag-train ka as emt-b..better chek their websyt www.psemt.org and you'll see the course description..LSTI is closely affiliated wid PSEMT, and also wid phil heart assoc, up-pgh..there you will get an in-depth training of emergency medical services. The instructors at LSTI which is situated here in cubao are also the founders of PSEMT.. The instructors are licensed EMT-Paramedics in Europe, another instructor is a trauma nurse specialist who got her license in europe too.the training is a 7-week lecture discussion wid exposure at the up-pgh emergency service..here, you will be taught all aspects pertinent to EMS..if you pass the course, you will be certified EMT-basic..there are increasing levels of EMT depending on the training and exposure you will have to attain..after EMT-basic, EMT-defibrillator, EMT-intubation, EMT-advance, and EMT-Paramedic..unfortunately, paramedic training and license is not available here in the philippines..training is at new york and no where else..the red cross does not offer EMT-training but they do offer BLS lessons for laymen and volunteers..its good if you train for first responder lessons before training for emt-basic..so that you will have a some background about emergency care at the pre-hospital setting..hope i have helped you wid some info..
emmm..i know about the first responder training at station 54 because the instructors from there came to our training center last week..i dont think you really need to have a uhf/vhf radio..coz if you wanna work at an emergency setting, lets say the ambulance or if you work as a emergency dispatcher it is already provided there..you dont need to have you own radio..first responder lessons wil show you basic information you need to know about emergencies and good because they will also show you emergency equipments used..its nice coz you will have a background about EMS..but first responders are different from EMTs..EMTs are licensed emergency care providers..first responders are laypersons who underwent BLS training and can serve as volunteers in emergency situations..there is a EMS 1-week training to be an EMT..americans usually go here and conduct the operation smile..but i just dunno with the course description of their training..Coz you see, to be an EMT is to be ready to respond to all kinds of emergency at the pre-hospital setting..that includes all disasters on the road and all medical and trauma emergencies you are called upon..An EMT is the jack of all trades..you should have ample knowledge about all fields of emergency and all anatomical and physiological aspects of the human being in order to render the most appropriate care and save a life and prevent disability of patients under your care........
ay..oo nga pla..probably..though im not that sure..baka maglecture din dun ang mga instructors sa LSTI doon sa FEPAG.. kasi sabi ng taga-fepag dati guest lecturers nila ang mga instructors sa lsti.. fepag is a volunteer group and they also have a fast-food or cafeteria to gather funds for their volunteer work..You can check it out. i wanna go there too and chek it out myself.. hehehe! some members of fepag are also from LSTI..if its just BLS or first aid you want, there are many who offer..but if you want to have in-depth rigid training and to be a certified EMT, well i guess you really have to spend time and enroll..GOOD LUCK! the training at LSTI just started last jan. 9..and its about to end next week..whew!! hope I pass the course..hehehe! im not sure when they'll offer the training for the next batch..im in batch 43..LSTI started since 1998 and the instructors are really dedicated to introducing and improving EMS in the phil. EMs is not just the ambulance, it is a system involving ambulance, qualified EMTs, hospital, and the community..Hope the government will recognize the importance of EMS in the country..Hope the congress will pass bills concerning EMS and improvement of health care delivery system in the country..
