First the BAP fiasco, then the FIBA disqualification in all international tournaments. What's next? Forget your Olympic dream then, Mr Noli Eala.

    Mag-soccer na lang kaya tayo?

What wrong? Like with almost everything else:too much politicking. Well, this is just one of the many of other possible reasons. But the way I assess it, it's because of too much politics within and between the BAP, POC, PBA and some other sports organizations whose name I forget.

Coach Chot Reyes too many excuses, not enough coaching.

A stint in the Olympics is only a dream, unless they establish a national pool who will eat, sleep, train, and play together.

well FIBA suspended the Philippines from participating in all their tournaments (SEA, ABC, FIBA, Olympics) until BAP and POC settle their row. Remember, PCC expelled the BAP as the NSA for Basketball in the Philippines. Di mo rin masisi ang POC kasi nga very poor/ragtag ang mga pinapadala teams ng BAP against international tournaments. What trigerred this is when the BAP team lost to a Paranaque team composed of celebrities and weekend warriors. In short nawala ang confidence ng POC sa capability ng BAP in handling the basketball affairs of the country.

Kaso instead of serving the explulsion from POC, pinadala pa rin ng BAP yung team nila sa SEABA Tourney sa KL. Supposed to be, the team na papadala dun ay yung galing sa pool of players ni Chot Reyes. They hold the country hostage in the sense na, lift niyo yung expulsion since andito na rin naman kami sa KL to play. Pag di kami pinayagan mag play, di tayo mag qualify lumaro sa Asian games. So FIBA decided na until di na resolve yan, suspended kayo.

Well lets hope na maayos na to at payagan ulit maglaro ang Philippines. Ang chance natin is when our team is invited as a "wild card" team to these tourney.

BAP consider itself a prestigious assoc. kasi recognized siya ng FIBA which is the highest governing authority in the world pag dating sa basketball. Kaso with the reorganization, lahat ng NSAs sa country is now under POC's wings. Pero feeling ng BAP, sovereign sila and wala right ang POC to interefere sa affairs nila. This is a simple case of pride, pataasan ng ihi, at ayaw pasakop. Kaya I would understand POC Chair Peping Cojuangco for clipping the wings of BAP dahil sobra na talaga sila.

They will be joining the US tournament in Las Vegas and Jones Cup in July. Hoping din na ma lift ng FIBA yung suspension and allow RP to play as a wild card team in ABC Tourney in Qatar in September.

Personally, mag No. 1 lang tayo sa Asia is a already a good feat. Yung world, impossible dream ata yun.
