Hype and money. Nothing else.
----
About this fight. Bradley was not that convincing. Pacquiao was not really stellar, either.
So it falls down to the promoter to generate hype and controversy to keep things interesting.
And more money for everyone concern. That's the bottom line. Pacquiao is partially to blame for the lackluster performance.
Continue the myth of losing every 16th bout. Basta more "mani" to come his way.
I was thinking about this on the way back home a while ago...
Boxing is a dying sport. The Heavyweight belts have no draw... flashy showmen in the lightweights like Prince Naseem are gone... the only game left is with the Mexicans, Mayweather and Pacquiao.
The controversy surrounding "Pretty Boy" dancing around and weaseling out of fighting Manny... Manny's "wins" over Marquez and this farce are the only things keeping the sport going. Once all the big dogs who bet on fights die off... all the young guys who are future sponsors, viewers and bettors are all going to be watching MMA.
MMA is killing off boxing... just like it's killing off "Pro-Wrestling". Both "Pro-Wrestling" and "Pro-Boxing" (from now on... that's how I'll refer to it.) need the extra drama... the face-offs in conferences... the court cases... the accusations... the "controversial" decisions... to draw crowds versus MMA.
Let's be honest... when was the last time you saw an MMA judges decision that you completely disagreed with? How many times do you see a boxing "decision" that was completely non-controversial? 20% of the time? 30%? In pro matches I've seen... it's more like 50%.
Giving credit where credit is due... I believe Bradley won five rounds and maybe came close on another... but that's it. His flurries were all air and illusion...
Which is just what boxing is now... a lotta hot air, smoke and mirrors.
F*** that. I ain't watching no more.
Was that the round where he almost went down? Yup... that was pretty stupid.
The other rounds they gave him... except for eight... I agree with... maybe round eleven I'd give Pacquiao, but that one was 50:50.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
Will pacyou do his usual quiapo thanksgiving mass and "victory" motorcade around Manila? Afterall, he did make a cool US$ 26 million...for himself.
meron pa rin siguro yan.
w/ a banner at naia & around the metropolis........"you're still our champion!"
lam mo naman ang pinoy......![]()
What WBO did is BS! Judges doesn't have the luxury of replay, they need to score rounds instantly...
Imagine if every contest, games will be scored after its done, there will be many different outcomes thru out history..
that's breaks of the game..
So what now? Will they be able to get bradley's title? Why not do all this BS late scoring to all controversial bout...labo!
They can just force a rematch but not come out with different result, erase na yun Laban parang annulment walang nangyari kasalanan...
