March 14th, 2019 09:58 PM #1What do you guys recommend? Owndays tong suot ko ngayon, which i broke earlier this week. In hindsight i should have bought metal instead of plastic -- it's just too brittle.
Or should i stick with the traditional optical shops?

Have owndays as my backup. Madalas ko din nagagamit kahit paano. It's good for me. I'm not exactly brand conscious with eyeglasses so even if the shop is unknown ok lang as long as I like the service and I'm comfortable with the resulting lenses. What I wouldn't do is go to Vision express. Pinasakit nila ulo ko. Long story. Anyway, ok din ang option sa quiapo as I've known a few who do go there for frames.

past 2 specs ko are from owndays, haven't tried their contact lenses...
ok naman... as long as nakakakita ako, brand is not important for me.
1 reason why I chose owndays is meron sya kahit saan. madaling mag pa adjust if needed.

March 15th, 2019 10:41 AM #5Own Days is expensive! How much did you get yours?
Kung gusto mo medyo fashionable, you can still stick with Owndays or Sunnies, but I'd stick with Sunnies. Own Days is too expensive, considering di naman ganun ka ganda material na gamit niya. Similar Snnies frames can be bought sa GH/QUiapo, pero tyagaan sa pag hahanap.
Pero para mga tulad kong mataas astigmatism (300+ for both eyes), a pair of specs from Owndays will be worth 8k (thin, non-transitional, multicoated) while sa Sunnies, 5k (regular thick, multicoated, non-transitional).
Since masyado pricey, what I do is I just buy the frame from Quiapo, GH, online or sa Sunnies/Own Days tapos have the lenses made sa Ideal vision.
GH/online frames = 1,100
Sunnies frame = 1,200
Own Days frame = 1,500 - 3000
Quiapo = 500 and up
Ideal vision lenses = 1200 (multicoated, non-transitional, glass)
The polycarbonate lenses will cost 7k. Pero im good with yung glass lenses.

Ako naman sir sa Quiapo nagka bad experience. Two pair pinagawa ko, one metal, one plastic. Nung napilitan akong gumamit nung plastic na backup, isang buwan akong hilo. On closer inspection i found semi concentric lines on the lens, and bumiyak ung plastic on one corner. Since then di na ako nag Quiapo uli.
Not brand conscious at all. Burara ako sa gamit so i need a tough frame.

Papagawa na sana ako sa owndays kaso di nila kaya Ang wide angle vision Ng current progressive lens ko kaya Ang bagsak ko sa executive optical, mas wider Ang vision than my current at half the price of other optical shops dito sa festival mall Alabang.

Buhay na buhay ang BGC this evening. Bukas halos lahat ng restaurants. Sabi pa nung isang cashier...
